Deans happy to keep Tuqiri as passenger

    12th November 2008, 9:45 WST

Injured winger Lote Tuqiri will remain with the Wallabies until the end of their European tour - even if he is unable to play a match.

Tuqiri has not played since undergoing knee surgery after Australia's 28-24 loss to New Zealand in mid-September and was only cleared to make six-week spring tour the day before the Wallabies departed.

He said in Hong Kong before the tour-opening clash with the All Blacks that he was targeting this weekend's showdown with England as his comeback match.

But despite watching Tuqiri train the house down over the past fortnight, Wallabies coach Robbie Deans on Wednesday admitted the dual international was not even close to gaining selection for the Cook Cup Test at Twickenham.

I liked the line break in:
"As he alluded to himself, he's not very good
    training by himself," Deans said."

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

GOOD GRIEF! We pay GOOD money to go to rugby games and watch fox and who knows WHAT else and now ARU wants to spend the money WE spent on them to keep the most over-paid rugbyplayer in the WORLD in europe on a nice little holiday? OH this infuriates me. WHAT has lote done to deserve this free trip to Europe eh? NOTHING! I hate it... I truly hate it (not sure what it is, but I hate it!)

I know. I hate the thought of MY ticket to the wallabies that I worked hard to get is being spent on keeping Lote in Europe. Uuurgh...

    OH-MY-GOSH!

PS I know I banned myself but I cannot resist. This thread is just too anger-ing

Neogirl, please bash him for me during chat tonight. HARD!

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

I find this rather worrying, it is never good for a team when it starts to be percieved that there is one set of rules for some players and another set of rules for the rest.

I'd like to return this thread to the topic at hand, Lote's continuing status as a passenger.
