WESTERN Force chief executive Vern Reid has quit his job at the Super Rugby outfit.
Reid joins a long list of people to leave the club in recent months as it strives to rebuild following a tumultous season which saw Richard Graham removed as coach, following revelations he had signed to coach Queensland next season.
The club was unsuccessful in retaining Wallaby flanker David Pocock for next season, while veteran Test second-rower Nathan Sharpe retired from Super Rugby.
The decision of Reid, a former basketball and Australian football administrator, signifies a change in direction for the club.
Former NSW Waratahs coach Michael Foley has been installed as head coach among a host of personnel changes.

“Everyone knows whether it’s rugby, politics or whatever, front-rowers should rule the world, so to have a hooker at the helm makes sense,” Nathan Charles Western Force & Wallabies Hooker.
Wooohooo, now I am getting a good feeling about the future of the Force!

Anyone else concerned about the fact that Vern Reid might be about to be the new ARU CEO....?!?!?!?
I am exhausted after Exterminating Armstrong Day yesterday, and now Terminating CEO Day today
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
What is John Welborn up to lately?
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
This peeves me when we have celebrations on the resignation of our CEO. Whilst he may not have pleased everybody all of the time and maybe not governed as many of you would have liked. No one can deny that this guy put his heart and soul into this job and whilst I have had a few raised eyebrows on some decisions made, never could anyone question his dedication to the game and the dedication to community rugby. Vern, good luck wherever you go and thanks for the time in a thankless job at the head of our club.
