All that cr@p about quokkagate and the fights was also handled with less than aplomb. Players should have been summarily sacked.

I think Quokkagate was the best thing that happened to Brownie, certainly taught him a valuable lesson and I know Browny brings a hell of a lot more to the team that what we see on the field.

and what a shame that would have been, he has developed into a terrific player. As TIF said, it was the making of the man.

Does not alter my point though. This club in its infancy should have taken a stand at this and several other issues to define its values, which it did not. And we have stumbled and bumbled ever since.

Take a look at Alex Ferguson at ManU. Sure I know they have almost unlimited resources and the best players which we do not, but he has never compromised on individuals compared to the greater good of the club. One could argue he became soft with Rooney last year, but what did Rooney actually do? He criticized the clubs owners for a LACK of ambition with their limited forays into the transfer market and threatened to walk (admittedly to City which was his actual failing).

EWF board have been entirely lacking in making tough decisions for the best interests of the club, cultural defining decisions. With regards to RG and the players voting on "should he stay or should he go", it should never have come to this, the board should have acted decisively and left the players to do what they are employed to do.

All that can happen now is dissension in the ranks, some will want him gone, some will not, some just want to play rugby.

ermmm....the mere fact the players are voting on whether RG should stay or go should preclude him from staying. What is going on RGs head, how can he possibly stay, when players are voting on him and the board IS LETTING THEM.
