PERTH'S bid for entry into the NRL has received some unusual support - from the Western Force Super Rugby franchise.
Force officials believe nib Stadium could be given a full revamp if another sporting team used the venue.
At present, the Force and Perth Glory A-League sides use nib Stadium.
The WA government has committed $98 million for a partial renovation of the ageing ground but the presence of a third team could persuade the government to commit to a full reconstruction.
"RugbyWA sees synergy in the introduction of a rugby league side into the Perth market, which would certainly add further impetus to the business case for a complete redevelopment of nib Stadium," RugbyWA chief executive Vern Reid said.
Former Western Reds forward Mark Geyer wants Perth back in the big time. "I think it's a fait accompli that we bring a Perth team in because of the time difference. It would be perfect for TV," he said.

A new NRL side might also 'force' the ARU to stop treating WA rugby like a bastard child. Bring it on I say.
It looks like yet another beat-up to me. There so many inaccuracies in the article it is amazing.
Since when could MG say "fait accompli", let alone in context?
He had a ghost speaker...
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
I did not write this article, in case anyone asks.
Storm in a teacup I say, as soon as the glory were losing Sage wanted out and wanted to put money into a new adventure, now Glory are winning, the media are opening up a can of worms and Gallop (NRL money hungry twat) is on his back like a rash... RL was always coming to Perth in 2015.
nah - MG probably said that its pretty much a done deal.
In all fairness - Mark Geyer is now a Breakfast Radio DJ here in Sydney and very popular. In the last couple of years he has organised some very large charity events. He is a pretty good guy and there are not many people in Sydney that dislike him.

I don't think being a radio DJ does a lot for public perception of his mental capacity ...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
If anything screws up the Perth NRL bid it'll be this: http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/spo...-sage-nrl-bid/
