South Africa coach Peter de Villiers has claimed that his side are being targeted by referees because of their world champion status.
De Villiers, who recently contacted IRB Referee Chief Paddy O'Brien to unearth answers to their scrum woes in Perth, has explained it is a 'complete waste of time' speaking to officials before international fixtures.
South Africa currently sit atop of the Tri-Nations standings following four successive wins and one recent defeat to Australia in Brisbane. But the coach still believes they have been unfairly treated by several officials of late.
"People don't want to see other teams being successful. That is my biggest problem at the moment," he said, speaking to News24.
"We can't go public about certain things because we don't have all the evidence, but the body language of certain officials when things went against us in that game made us worry."

PDV slams everyone when the Proteas lose

Seems English isn't the only language PdV struggles with.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
It's an old Saffa thing, when they loose, they blame the ref.
"Remember lads, rugby is a team game; all 14 of you make sure you pass the ball to ..........."
wasnt he gagged by the SARU?
Peter De Jibber, the media dribbler
Now points his finger bewildered at his officiator…
Poor misguided Peter De media dribbler…
He has become the medias inane regurgitater…
When the All Backs do a number on his scrum in Hamilton, poor Peter will really lose it!
are people still listening to this guy?
imagine if eddie jones kept the job with the boks, what sort of dribble they could frenzy each other into coming up with.

Made "us" or just him worry in his paranoid little coaches box. His body language when things went their way in Perth was more of an issue. He didn't give a crap that they'd won, he just sat back in his chair and looked as though he was up for a snooze.
I know I'm a bit of a pessimist when it comes to reading what journos write but if my team wins, I'm pretty stoked and can manage a positive comment here or there. Even if they lose, there's always atleast one good thing to be said about the game. His team wins and he just sits there. His team loses and he cries bloody murder reporting everyone left, right and centre. He NEVER has anything nice to say about any other team or any person who might have taken part in a game in which his team lost. IMHO he is quite possibly the most ungracious coach of all time and I have very little, if any, respect for him.
awww I love it when the little fella gets all upset![]()
