I expect a significant number of signings which include high quality bench players from the tahs, Reds and brums at least one quality player from overseas who is being bought back to parachute into the wallabies and some of the higher quality under 20s from the national program.

Hope the bit about encouraging players to come to Perth doesn't lead to us having more mercenary, disloyal, showboaters like Drew Mitchell. I would prefer that players come here to help the team rather than just themselves and their own hip pockets.

The Australian Rugby Union has lifted a $3 million burden from RugbyWA in its new alliance with Western Force.

The debt is made up of the accumulated deficit prior to last year, a $1.1 million loss from 2015 and further expected losses up to July 31 when the ARU effectively takes over the Super Rugby franchise.

RugbyWA will continue to run community rugby and still has to repay the outstanding $1.1 million of a $2.4 million State Government interest-free loan used to help develop nib Stadium.

By the looks of it, there might be a slow road to competitiveness, but the obvious cost cutting of the last few years would have been unavoidable when your debt (4.1 million just in what was reported) is such a huge component of your turnover. (the ARU grant is only 4.3 isn't it.

Employers don't care about that anymore and I can tell you from personal experience Insolvency Practitioners advise employers not to worry about this (unpaid wages, redundancy, long service, holidays etc) as it is now covered by the Federal Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) which employees can apply for after a company is liquidated.
