    Here, here.

My dread is we become that waiting area for players wanting to play with the east coast teams.

My hope is that with the ARU arrangement now all the pieces will finally align at the same time I.e. Good coach, good players, good luck

Credit where it's due Jargs. Not many auld farts are up with that stuff. We mostly limit ourselves to plagiarising Eric Idle, Michael Palin & Co.

    Simpsons Chimpsons.

Nothing to do with that abominable program.

I was quoting the memorable comment of Joan Collins in the 1977 film based on HG Wells short story "Empire Of The Ants".

At least something is starting to happen. By the looks of it, there might be a slow road to competitiveness, but the obvious cost cutting of the last few years would have been unavoidable when your debt (4.1 million just in what was reported) is such a huge component of your turnover. (the ARU grant is only 4.3 isn't it.

If they closed operations, there would be nothing to cover staff payouts.

Employers don't care about that anymore and I can tell you from personal experience Insolvency Practitioners advise employers not to worry about this (unpaid wages, redundancy, long service, holidays etc) as it is now covered by the Federal Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) which employees can apply for after a company is liquidated.

Not to mention the bank always gets paid first. So after that there's generally f-all left for the employees.

Actually Jono ATO is always first, secured creditors second (banks etc), employees third, unsecured creditors last of all!
