    Same here,

I already downgraded to Bronze with a free junior, but I simply can't justify the entertainment value of the dollar spent any more.

Tell them to bugger off to Penrith if that's their (Rugby WA's) attitude

    Dear Rugby WA

I figure that since I and my family became Gold Members in 2006, I have handed over somewhere in the vicinity of $15,000 to $20,000 to you.
I hate to think what is the total amount of money given to you over the same period by the people who post (or lurk) on this forum but I wouldn't be surprised if that sum is a seven digit number of dollars.

This is not money which has to be spent in order to stay alive and to function in this bloody expensive state of WA. That is, it is not for essentials like food, transport, fuel, power, water, mortgage or rent, maintenance of dwelling, the kids' education, land rates etc. It is money spent for entertainment; nothing more, nothing less.

And it has stopped being enjoyable. That is, it isn't entertaining any more. Traipsing along to NIB every couple of weeks to watch the Force yet again lose at home in an uneven contest is no longer fun.

Now we have this article which appeared in the national newspaper over a week and a half ago, and I can find no response from you to it and to the claims which it makes - nothing, nada, zip. Why not? If this article is even partially true, then what are the implications for your membership, i.e. we mug punters out here?

Why haven't you at least made a comment or offered an explanation to your long suffering membership about this alleged change of control?
    Is it because
    1. You're as clueless as the rest of us about what is going on?
    2. Your contempt for the membership of the Western Force is such that you think the best response is to keep us in the dark and feed us occasionally with a spoonful of the proverbial?

    Cheers

After the Bulls game I saw Foley making his way towards the crowd in front of me I thought I might throw out a smart arse comment until I realised I didn't care anymore.

I get far more enjoyment out of local Rugby at the moment then I do the Force. Going to have to have a serious think about renewing this off season.

Im with you mate, it's about time our CEO told the fans what the hell his plan is. The place has been going backwards ever since he was appointed. Apart from the Future Force Foundation what is Mr Sinderberry bringing to the table in terms of strategies for the next 5 years? If the suggestion of us missing out on some key signings due to dilly dallying and sponsors being treated poorly are correct, what is Mr Sinderberry going to do to rectify this? And why the meek surrender of most of the control of the business to outside sources?
Come on Mr Sinderberry, the fans who have been there the whole time supporting this club need answers.

Seems like this is already in place.
Sooner than the 2-3 weeks indicated by Wayne Smith in his article.

This is the article that finally got me goin' in the first place and I thought that everybody would have seen it.

How can this sort of change happen without local information to Force Members and the WA rugby community?
What have the clubs been told?

Just heard that it's not happy families at the Force office either.
Seems that Sinderberry has been keeping closer to the ARU than to anybody in WA.
What the hell's the Board been doin'?

I've also heard that Sinderberry/ARU are out recruiting for next year without even running prospects past Foley. I think the coach has been trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, when Farmer Berry won't even give him the pig in the first place!

It's been a long time since I've seen Sinderberry and Foley together. Not good body language.
Can anybody confirm any recent positive meetings with both together?

If this is equivalent to a receiver manager being appointed then usually the Board and CEO are asked to step down.
Maybe they have stepped down from the Force but still there for RugbyWA?
    Who bloody knows?

I'd forgotten that the Waratahs is owned by the ARU and not by RugbyNSW.
Explains the special deals that the Waratahs ALWAYS get e.g. Folau from League.

I wonder when they (the ARU and Sinderpuppet) were planning to inform the Force Members and WA rugby public about details of the ARU takeover of the Western Force?

I heard a rumour from an employee of RugbyWA that Foley is done if the Force lose this week.

Mark Sinderberry and the ARU better have his replacement to announce at the same time.
They need to have ALL of the players not contracted beyond 2016 locked in BEFORE they push this button.

Michael Foley appears to have the backing of the players (especially Matt Hodgson who has stated that he'd prefer to see it through together).

I reckon we could see close to a total collapse of the franchise from the player viewpoint.

Would be a shame if we saw the following players not stay:
Matt Hodgson (despite what the article in the West advised. It didn't sound that the contract had been signed. Vital to keep linked to the club. But a very marketable player. England? Japan? For Hodgson it won't be about the $.)
Angus Cottrell (wouldn't take much to get him home to Queensland)
Kyle Godwin (Still to show his best. I'm confident that it will happen and better if in Perth.)
Luke Morahan (Growing pairing with DHP Luke likes Perth)
Pek Cowan (Work rate has improved of late but Wallaby and very marketable and unlikely to stay if Hodgson goes)
Kane Koteka (Good potential for future glory)

I haven't changed my opinion that the end of the season would be the only right and orderly time (if at all).

Person I was speaking to on Saturday didn't have a timeframe on it so it could be end of the season which would probably be the best.

Or it could be complete bull dust.

    Just reporting what I've heard.

    The Roar Article as follows:

What the hell happened at the Western Force?
By Craig Musson, 4 May 2016

In last weekend’s Australian newspaper, hidden deep in the back pages of the sports section, was a small five-paragraph article under the headline “ARU takes over the reins at Western Force”.
The silence here in the west from the club, the supporters and the media has been deafening.
Make no mistake, this is akin to an ailing business being put into administration. Were it a public company, the board and senior executives would be held to task, as this is the culmination of a catalogue of errors which started on day one.
Recall the promise under which the club started in 2005. Riding a wave of emotion to bring rugby to Western Australia, the ARU could not ignore the passionate voices from the west demanding the 12th team be awarded to Perth over a bid from Melbourne.
The start was promising. Let’s not forget by the second season the team included the likes of Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell, Nathan Sharpe, Brendan Cannon and a future leader in the 17-year-old David Pocock. Coached by John Mitchell and with the backing of major sponsor Emirates, the future looked bright.
    But cracks began to appear.
A lack of due diligence and rush for cash and signings saw a side-deal done with Firepower to lure Giteau to Perth. The promised cash evaporated almost as soon as the ink was dry.
We the supporters were never clearly told what occurred, but Giteau got burnt. His mate Mitchell also decided something didn’t smell right.
Our reputation for the wild west, with deals done over a few beers, was enhanced. Firepower was found to be nothing but a scam. The Force claimed they had nothing to do with a third-party deal, but the perception became reality.
Culture and people again led to the first major issues in the late-2000s, with simmering tensions between coach and players resulted in John Mitchell leaving. Who knows what happened, as supporters we were simply not told, but something was wrong.
Richard Graham was then appointed in yet another mistake, as he left for a better offer at Queensland halfway through the 2012 season. The players were furious, deciding they would coach themselves rather than have Graham, and so they did.
It was while sitting on hot, temporary, metal seats in a stadium still under construction, watching a player-coached team lose miserably to the new Melbourne Rebels, that I decided I’d had enough and resigned my membership in protest. But we hadn’t hit rock bottom.
Pocock was doing his best to get high-profile players, and the Force should have got Will Genia but the deal was botched – or Genia was concerned enough about the lack of strategy, direction and coach not to come.
Pocock then left and with him the future of the club, for here was a man who embodied everything a club would want: courage, integrity, teamwork and absolute determination walked out the door.
After seven years of blood, sweat and tears, Pocock worked out the club had no future. The major financial backer Emirates had also seen enough and no longer wanted their name associated with the club.
A new naming sponsor could not be found, and the Force faced the embarrassment of having a different sponsor on each player’s jersey. Cash was now critical.
Michael Foley was appointed coach under yet further controversial circumstances, as an unsuccessful run at the head coach’s job for NSW saw the manager and chairman of the Waratahs resign before Foley jumped ship.
Why they chased a coach who was in the middle of an unseemly mess no one explained, but by now we were left picking up players who could not get starting positions with other countries or states.
The gameplan had to keep up with the lack of talent, and so the style of play during the 2015 season was simple: kick the ball down the field and hope something happens. The result? Three wins, a wooden spoon, and pissed-off supporters.
The side had one win from nine games in 2016 before the ARU stepped in and took control. Rumours circulated that Perth may even lose the team for a move to Western Sydney.
The loyal supporters and players who give their all deserve an apology and explanation from all who have served on the board and management since the club’s inception.
    Nothing less is acceptable.
This man is as passionate as anyone here about his rugby,is also one helluva nice guy.Very polite and well mannered man who has become frustrated like everyone else.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

The Brumbies need a new CEO. Sinders was their CEO years ago prior to heading over to Europe. I wonder if he would be interested in a return to our nations capital?

Amazing-when the knives are out, how quickly it all gains momentum. But is it the right way to go?
