What "small car" is suitable for a bloke to drive?

My first car was a Morris 1100, my next was a Mini Moke. I know, I know - I'm over compensating with my vehicle choice (Should see what I drive now ) ...

If I had the budget and went for a new smallish car - I'd have to go a "Western Force Blue" PT Cruiser which at 2.4 litres may be pushing it for 'small'

So whats a bloke to buy 2.4l or less ?

(I'm not actually looking at a new car at the moment - just interested in other opinions)

Under 2.4 litres you need to go with the WRX or the EVO IX They're blokey cars

I believe most offerings by lotus are also under 2.4l, is there a price range we're meant to stick to?

And THIS little puppy is only 2 litres
Does ball-tearingly fast qualify it as blokey?

Can't believe you think a WRX to be "small". I'm stuck driving a 1.4 Clio automatic (the firm wouldn't pay for anything better) which can just about get up to 130 on the flat but can't manage above 90 up a hill. Definately wouldn't recommend the Renault.

If you can pull off having a convertable then the Honda S2000 is quite good fun to drive. Can you get hot hatchbacks in Australia? If so, the Golf and Focus are worth a look. Otherwise, you could always get a pick-up.
