Yeah I had a hungi at Kala and it tasted like an old rugby boot that had been covered in mud and thrown in a fire. The Kala boys loved it though, although I think those boys would get excited about mince on toast.

Didja know that the grade format has changed this year?

We'll have 1sts, 2nds, U/20s and U/18s and everyone else will be 3rd Grade. There will be two comps for 3rds: Gold and Swan. And teams will be playing for the Gold Cup and the Gold Shield and the Swan Cup and the Swan Shield.

Can't remember precisely, but it's along the lines of whomever finished 1st, 3rd, 5th etc will be in Gold and 2nd, 4th, 6th etc will be in Swan. I can't recall how the Cup and Shield bit works. I imagine you clubbies will know by now?

Here's how it is going to look.

For teams like Soaks, Neddies etc with two in 3rd Grade, which comp will they put their stronger team in, or do the Squads vary from week to week for the betterment of the Club result at the end of season?
Never really understood the concept of two teams in the same comp, seems a bit incestuous...

It's probably like having an A and B side. Although I can imagine if the B side suddenly look like winning a flag and the A side don't it could get messy.

Hopefully the B players would stand up and say you can go and f*** off if you think you think you can get a game in the B side.

On another note, I heard from an unnamable source on the weekend that Wanneroo have had a $400,000 budget this season with which to purchase additional players.

I brought this up tonight at the club. I have never seen more men nearly choke on a beer with laughter than before this.

Some of them are still laughing about it I think.

While we are spreading rumours about Wanneroo did you know Giteau tried to sign there but was rejected.

The budget is actually $500, 000.

Jon O'neill wanted to include us in the new super 15 comp and that was just the 5th grade team.

Anyway there's a few new ones.

I'd say gold is where the A players would go and the B players into the black comp.

No team is going to play it's own club.

Gold is really 3rd or 4th grade and black is 4th or 5th grade of last year.

Seems like it could work.
