Did anyone else think the crowd number was strange???
27,011?
I thought there was a lot more people and while I know its hard to estimates crowds over a large area it still seemed strange.
What get me really thinking was when I came in throught gate 3 my card didnt quite scan properly and the gate attendant just told be to go through the gate to the side of the turnstile.
Did this happen to anyone else?
The conspiracy theorist in me has the WAFC wanting to make our crowds look not so good??
I thought the crowd looked to be a bit closer to 30,000 than that but there were a few empty seats.
But if they were letting people through without scanning their cards properly, how can they give such an exact number of the crowd?
Something smells fishy to me too....
I made Happy sad...
A great turnout and it shows that WA is firmly behind the Force.
Yes a good turnout, but there were significant spaces in all the seating.
The empty seats were spread thinly amongst all the seating -thats why it may have looked "fuller". From the 5 rows where I sit, at least 50 less people than last year - several times last year it was almost shoulder to shoulder, I think those days have gone.
I was quite high up (where you can see the empty seats) and guessed high 20s, so I don't think 27 000 was too far off.
And did you notice that ET had a sign that took up a whole block of seats behind the goal next to the Blue Crew. Would have been better giving away free tickets and signs for people to hold!

I spoke to my dad about it - who goes to a lot of that other game they play at Subi - he thought at the 27k was spot on.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
mum didnt mention anything to me about her card not scanning properly at gate 3.
i'll ask her when i see her this evening though.
Funny you should mention that, I walked in through the wrong door where there was no scanner and just walked past the the security and nothing said.
Just happy to be here
The manager at the Moon & Sixpence told me on the way to the match that he'd got a figure of 30,000 tickets sold by Saturday and there were 25,000 sold by COB Wednesday. So the figures seem a bit suss.
including members?
guys, you need to remember that ticket seller ALWAYS talk up the sales. This encourages people to rush and and get tickets before they all go, or BETTER grab a higher price ticket.
I had some freinds who tried to buy tickets at the gate and were told "sorry, no seats available in that block" (so they could sit with freinds) - then advised that "there are a few GOLD tickets left" ....
Ticketmaster and the WAFC - out for the fast cash grabe every time.
