Blind freddy can see that Rockingham, Mandurah and Kwinana all need to be aligned to the same grade club. Between 3 clubs would get a hopefully competitive prems team.
It starts again, pre season has just started and the whiners are on again about the most successful clubs getting the best players.
Get off your arses and do some off season recruiting yourselves. Not only for your top team but to provide some depth in the lower grades.
Heard this through the 'scaffolder grapevine' today....... Kalamunda were all set to have a couple of Western Force wider training squad players join them this year, (Arnold & Sexton) only for rugbywa to advise the players that their services are needed elsewhere. Sexton in fact wanted to link up with his old Leinster team mate Leo Auva'a at the Bulls, but rugbywa said he must play for Cott. Told his mates it was out of his control, and when rugbywa for asked about this their response was 'it was the players choice'
Surely my soure is lying rugbywa wouldn't do that would they?
UWA have brought themselves last years leading try scorer, Kala winger Apineru. Rent and bills paid for the year, car, match payments and a job apparently. The guy had been training with with a least 4/5 clubs during preseason.
True on both fronts about the Wider Training Group/EPS players coming to Kalamunda, both players told to play for a club closer to Floreat. Same old same old really.
Natu Apineru has been playing 10s and 7s for Wests, thought he might end up there. Burned a lot of chances at Kalamunda recently, was giving multiple jobs, too lazy to turn up to any of them. One of Kalamundas former props has been giving him money to go to UWA, now the club looks to have been sucked in with financial assistance.
Kalamundas lost a few of last years prems side, mostly from the 9, 10, 12 positions. Our 2 halfbacks have left, last years 10 has gone back to Auckland and the 12 left late last year after the dust up in the Wests carpark and his replacement 12 joining the army. Biggest loss though is young gun flanker Lukas Birch to Joondalup. Moved up that way to attend ECU.
Recruited a couple of inside backs to fill the gaps, 2 youngsters from Perth and a classy looking 10 from Wellington.
New Prems Co Coach from Palmyra/Trinity/JGS has also brought some promising 18-21 yr olds with him, with a few from the Force u/20s coming on board.
Training numbers have been down slightly and if we have a bad run of injuries our depth will be tested.
Preseason trials vs Wanneroo and Nedlands coming up.
Good numbers for the womens team with lots of new faces. 3rds and 4ths will be about the same as last year. Should be able to field U/20s if they ever show up to training.
And also some news that shall make Westiesmans day and keep the tribunal busy, im hearing Luggsy is coming back to Kalamunda soon.
Also Big Leo is currently sidelined with a broken hand picked up in Busselton, should be fit for the start of season though.
Plenty of clubmen on here, dont be shy, how is your club traveling so far? Westie? Im sure your lurking somewhere?
We're doomed, doomed, I tells ya.
Ever since you stole the best coach in the world from us.
And haven't I been right every year?
I heard over the weekend that Ryan Tyrell is training with Uni. Can anyone confirm?
If it is I am sure he will fit right in.
Went and had a look at training at Palmyra.
Wow! Just wow!!
