The senate has tabled the committee's report and recommendations. Can Pulver still be charged with contempt? If so, is that handled by the parliament or the judiciary?

I will preface this by saying I am not an expert - however , the senate must refer contempt charges to another subcommittee - there is no time limit on this . They may have already done this or may be in the process of doing this. Clearly if the email is legit then either Clyne and or Pulver were lying through their teeth and need to be brought to account or they will be held up as the ambassadors of deceit who got away with it

I would assume yes, this email is just proof of his lie, therefore he was in contempt. Not sure how it is managed, but somebody posted that contempt of the parliament is rarely punished punitively

Nor am I an expert but I think you are right and it is not something that would be done without serious consideration as it is a very serious offence.

Another thought - if the email is legit - and the report referred to it , so this suggests it is - and now it is in the public arena - it kind of forces thier hand to bring the contempt charge or else it tells constituents that you can lie to the senate with impunity

When Senator Reynolds released the report she stated they were further investigating the evidence provided and the circumstances in which the evidence was provided. She also mentioned the ARUs highly misguided attempts to have the inquiry shut down. I think we will hear more in time.

It's this attitude of 'oh just move one, get over it' that makes me angrier than anything! They don't seem to be having the same attitude now they're realising they're being shafted by the ARU as well now!

Makes you wonder if the media owners of Rugby broadcast rights and their employees are so fearful that so much damage has been done that they will be lumbered with a white elephant product. Trying desperately to change the narrative. Maybe they should have refused to reword the contracts in the first place.

I agree - I can't just get over what they did to our/my national sport and I can't understand why everyone else is so blasé and the fact that it was underhand deceitful and so much more is something I can't accept

    Gigs: "punished punitively".

Is there any form of punishment that is not punitive?

Thought about asking that. But GIGS already had a dig at me for being a smart arse last week.
