Who's next?
MICHAEL Cheika's decision to reject an offer from Western Force has thrown the Super Rugby franchise's search for a new coach into disarray.
Force expected to announce Cheika as head coach this week after offering him the job, but informed sources say he knocked it back. It is understood the two parties failed to agree on money.
Cheika was also believed to be upset about details of the negotiation leaking.
The failure to secure Cheika's signature will mean the Force will have to revisit its shortlist of candidates, which included Scott Johnson, John Mulvihill and Eddie O'Sullivan.
NSW coach Michael Foley's name was also linked to Force, but the Waratahs have endorsed him to continue next year despite the team's disappointing season.
Uncertainty over the coach will not help Force's efforts to retain Wallabies captain and openside flanker David Pocock, who has had an offer from the Brumbies and been approached by Melbourne Rebels.
If Cheika had accepted the job, there was a good chance Pocock would have stayed at Force.
But Pocock's preferred candidate has always been Mulvihill.

You are f$cking joking.
Getting sick of this $hit
Tell me this is a joke please.
The FARCE management have a lot of questions to be answered if they want supporters next year.
Apart from us gormless idiots who will turn up no matter what.
May the FORCE be with you!
If I was Pocock I would be running for the hills, this whole saga is becoming a joke again, just like O'Connor, Genia, graham etc.

If true, it's an embarrassment. I give up.

SBS/AAP "..is rumoured to have already been offered the Force role.. "
Brett Haris ".. but informed sources say he knocked it back.."
Growden ".. but it is believed he has or is about to turn them down.."
Endless speculation with nothing based on fact. No credence will be given until we get an official line from Rugby WA - Please may it be soon to get them to STFU and put us out of our misery!
A sad day if it is true. One door closes and another opens. Maybe our second choice was the man for the job. Haggling over money seems a bit rich considering Cheika is worth a quid or two. Still, the EWF management needs a clean out if nothing else. Just means it will take a little longer to get to the top. Get a coach and let's smash the pre-season for 2013.
Ok, so does anyone have up-to-date floorplans of the RugbyWA complex for our siege?
"The details of the negotiation leaking"?
The only place I've seen 'details' have been in the Eastern states papers, and they've had precious little detail. If there were leaks, why would the Force be leaking to Eastern states papers?
Well said. This sort of thing - informed sauces, speculation, misinformation etc - happens all the time in sport. Des Hasler to the Dogs, Bomber Thompson to the Bombers, Wayne Bennett to Newcastle and on and on it goes. I wonder how many of those finding it so easy to condemn actually have experience that qualifies them to judge?
Onward & upward.

My hearty congratulations to RugbyWA on another clusterfuck. Any danger we could actually resemble a professional sporting organisation. I'm surprised my membership card actually arrives safely in the mail.
Who runs the pr department down at rugby wa?.... I think. They'll have to work overtime before the members renewals are posted out!.....
