I think Smith was running a touch line last week - does anyone know whether he was THAT referee?

    The team last week was:
Waratahs vs Western Force in Sydney
    Referee: James Leckie (Australia)
Touch judges: Ian Smith (Australia), Daniel Cheever (Australia)
Television match official: George Ayoub (Australia)

George is the other one that needs better glasses....too...however our two tries last week didn't get as far as the TMO..so maybe I am being too unkind..

My understanding is that George no longer runs anywhere anymore, ie solely TMO duties.
I think it was two seasons ago that he retired from onground duties.

Yeah, but was it Smith or Cheever that was stargazing rather than watching Spanner's feet?

I guess if I was a touchie, I'd watch the player's feet and then the flight of the ball ANY time there's a kick in general play, If you don't watch the flight of the ball, you might miss where it crosses the touchline.

It makes it worse that he wasn't daydreaming, he was either completely hopeless or deliberately wrong........I'd actually prefer daydreaming!

I just hope EWF gets fair go and our backrow (the best in the country) is allowed to show his brillance at breakdown. Quick ball to exciting backs.no wounder EWF is representing Australia at the end of the season the other teams are too boring and dont get bums on seats. Leike should be signed up by the Northern hemisphere guys and stay there. We did well to win I thought. Sharpie needs a medal for decking him
