Jones named to coach Barbarians
June 17, 2008 MISSING out on the Australia job has not deterred media personality Alan Jones from launching a coaching comeback.
The former Wallabies mentor will return to rugby for a Barbarians match in Brisbane next month.

i feel sorry for Souths, i was involved with the planning for the second field a couple of years back, i was playing for them at the time and the company i worked for was going to supply the irrigation equipment at a real cheap price.
Unfortunately i moved away and that was the last i heard of it for a while, then i went to a Souths function night earlier this year and i was asking about the field, and apparently one of the local NIMBY groups protested against it and took them to court, it coust Souths a shit load of money and has put the club on the verge of being bankrupt.
Also there is rumour that part of the new rules coming into the QLD Premier Grade is that Premier Grade teams must have at least 2 fields for there club, Souths Seniors only has 1 field, while Souths Juniors down the road has another 2 but is considered a seperate club. It could mean that Souths gets kicked out of Premier Grade, it would be sad considering the calibre of players go through the club, i think there is something like 20 wallabies to come from Souths over the years.
