According to unofficial stats Elsom is still one of the best three back rowers in the super14, the Other two are believe it or not.. Hoiles and Spies
HOWEVER!.. looking at some of the most important stats for a back rower pilfers and turnovers forced ....
Hoiles pilfers: 1 turnovers: 0
Elsom pilfers: 0 turnovers: 1
Pocock pilfers: 2 turnovers: 3
Higgenbotham pilfers: 0 turnovers: 1
Hodgson pilfers:2 turnovers: 1
Brown pilfers:0 turnovers:0
its obvious that some stats are not being counted correctlyso ... as you were

Deans was there on Friday he say for his own eyes that Bam outplayer Ritchie....... Elson will go to 8 with Bam and Hodgson on the side for sure Higgenbottom reserve
I don't think Deans is likely to play Pocock and Hodgson in the starting XV. It's not really his style. The most likely at the moment is Pocock, Higginbotham and Elsom with Hodgson on the bench.

Yeah against the Baa Baa's that team is ok. Against the Springboks no way, to small and the Springboks will kick for touch all night long and steal our line out feeds with some of their very tall timber.
Hodgson will be on the bench to replace Pocock or for some games vice versa.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
Could be, just interesting that was the first and last time that Hodgson was available to Deans that's all.

Hodgson was available on the Spring Tour. He played in both the midweek games.
