Subbies clubs can not go to Shute Shield. Nor can Shute Shield clubs drop to Subbies Division 1 etc.
The example I showed with the Balmain Club virtually destroyed Subbies Rugby for a couple of years. They went thru that season undefeated. The Skills gap was remarkable and at times dangerous. Subbies Rugby is at the end of the day, Park Rugby and should be seen and treated as such. Balmain was on a mission to get to Division 1 Subbies. They made it. But they gained no friends along the way.
NSW Rugby puts expectations on every club that participates in Shute Shield and Club Rugby.
Shute Shield must have 5 Senior teams and 3 Colts, teams
I'm sorry I don't know the numbers for all of them. But you will get the picture.
Division 3 Subbies. 3 Senior Teams and one Colts team
with the current downturn of participation numbers in Rugby (Australia-wide) these participation numbers are unable to be met. But NSW Rugby is not happy. Nothing can be done about it.
My Club is considering canceling a team for the year due to a lack of numbers.

Catalans Dragons furious with Israel Folau's QRL bid
The controversial cross-code star is set to claim that the QRL is discriminating against him due to his religious views. But Folau seems to have conveniently forgotten that he is still under contract to Catalans, having walked out on the club several months ago.
Folau promised Catalans officials he would return to the French club - who have been greeted by a stony silence...................................."We have done everything we can to help Israel Folau when he asked to return home for family health issues and we are still keen on him returning to play out the rest of his contract."

Honestly every article about this confuses me such that I assume I am not the target audience.
- Israel Folau negotiated a return to Australia in December last year for "personal reasons" but was not released from his contract with Catalans.
- Israel Folau has attempted to register with a 3rd tier club in Qld with Clive Palmers backing (I assume Clive needs to divert attention from some form of nefarious scheme he's perpetrating)
- Qld Rugby League have said they cannot register him because he's contracted to Catalans.
- Israel Folau claims that Catalans stopping payments to him means he's a free agent - quote I read yesterday is "Catalans have failed to meet their financial obligations to me"
- Israel Folau has attempted to get a Supreme Court injunction allowing him to play for said 3rd tier Qld side which won't be heard until next week.
- Israel is suing for "restraint of trade" even though he's contracted to a club in France, at least that what his lawyer said yesterday in an article I read about this situation.
- Any of the "Religious freedom" bullshit that is being put out against QRL is just sideshow to distract people from the fact that he's contracted to Catalans (in my opinion).
That should bring everyone up to speed - in my defense I do have big feet.

Catalan Dragons have said yes, he should be in Europe, fulfilling his contract!
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Irregardless his what individuals may think about Filau's personal thoughts on some issues he is still a 3 x winner of the John Eales Medal.
I reckon that he's entitled to pursue something that he's so obviously good at - playing rugby.
However, I have my own issues with the actions, when a Board member of RA, of the individual after whom the the medal was named.

If he want to believe in a sky fairy with superpowers good luck to him.
He's contracted to an overseas RL club and he just wants to walk away when it suits him. If he disputes that he's under contract with Catalans he should sort that out first then he will be free to play Rugby League for another club.
The ongoing side show that accompanies him is why no NRL club is going to go near him with a 50ft pole.
