Enough said.
Wrong choice at the end.. Absolutely wrong choice.
A team of 15 'heros' played tonight.![]()
It's time to wear the black and gold shirts?
from PlanetRugby:
Force try running it up now, they need to keep the ball in hand. The Lions must keep their disipline. Sharpe now dummies. Giteau takes it up further and attempts a dropgoal, but it is a shocker and the ball is way off target. That could be the ball game as Human collects and thumps the ball into touch. The whistle blows and the Lions celebrate! The crowd goes quiet as they look on to their disappointed team. The Lions have finally won a game on Australian soil. It's been fifteen games since they have done so. What a cracker of game. That's it from me folks. Catch ya next time! Well done to the Lions!
How pathetic was that. Someone said the 9 could play. What about the 12? The 14 is our most wasted talent Our bald headed kiwi coach is a joke - bring spanner back to a real team., come back to the Tahs Scott no one wants you over there
I dunno - I got nothing

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Scott fava is useless... boys you better bloody lift...
Every forwards dream is to become a back...
Pretty disappointed I must admit.
People often talk of an incident as the turning point of the match, the turning point tonight was half time. All they had to do was continue with the same game plan and they would have torn holes through the Lions.
Giteau tonight proved that he has an excellent Rugby brain, for #12, not #10.
He made several crucial decisions that turned out to be way wrong (the bomb, the scrum feeds and the "drop goal") and where all ones that a top 5/8 would not have made.
I'm sure Henjak will come under scrutiny however I already know that it will be unfair criticism.
He had a very solid match. The Yellow Card offence was a professional foul that anyone who was in that hole would have had to make, it just happened to be him. The penalty that gave them lead as the tackler he had the rights to the ball and was only after others joined that he lost his feet, at worst it was play on, at best it was our penalty.
Junior is to #12 as Digby is to Wing, he has great potential when he gets it right but is too hit and miss and should be on the bench as an impact replacement.
I think Cross probably had the best match of his short Union career tonight and showed great promise.
Stanners made the most of limited opportunity and only highlighted why he should be closer to the action.
By his own high standards Shep had an average match but was still better than most.
Mitchell, more clangers but more line breaks as well.
Apart from lineouts I reckon the Forwards held their own and had some pretty good multi phase ball, highlighted by "try scoring machine" Boof Hardy going under the posts.
I think Hodgson has proven he is a starter but I am getting a bit frustrated with supposed super star Fava making some pretty basic "Frontrowers" errors.
It's easy to go the rant and if I had attended and/or been drinking then that's probably what I would be doing.
And lets not forget that the Lions played a pretty good match too and Pretorius proved yet again he is a class act.
This is the loss that will allow Mitch to make some changes, let's hope he does!
About the only real positive to come out of tonight for me is that I'm still a chance to be there for our first win![]()
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
I couldnt beliebe it when Gits went for the drop goal at the end there....We had possesion of the ball and were slowly but surely getting up the ground more...Should have kept going and gone for the try or force a penalty.
May The Force Be With You
shattered, disappointed, pissed off....... what can you say?
just a shame they weren't in black and blue shirts!Originally Posted by Sagerian

Gutted, Cried - but it is going to happen
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
for those that criticise Gits for the drop goal attempt - get back in your boxes and play some rugby - as heartbreaing as the result was a drop goal in the dying minutes of a game is:
a. desperation; and
b. desperation.
If it comes off - u beauty! if it doesn't it means that there was 80 minutes of rugby that lead up to that kick that needs to be questioned.
Our boys played well.
On top of that,
a. how many "off sides" were called during the match?
b. how much advantage was played. The law book says that Advantage:
LAW 8. ADVANTAGE.
The referee shall not whistle for an infringement during
play which is followed by an advantage gained by the non- offending team. An advantage must be either territorial or such
possession of the ball as constitutes an obvious tactical
advantage. A mere opportunity to gain advantage is not
sufficient.
so this means that if an infringement occures and the favourable team is attacking through their backline, you do NOT bring it back for a Knock forward by the opposite team.
In Eddi's words "the refererring was f%"
So many handling errors... that is all.
Shall we take up a collection and give Mitch $10,000 to have a go at the ref??
