Wayne Smith's articles are pretty good. He understands that if anyone is going to kick and scream about Giteau, they needs a solution first. Dropping anyone who doesn't play up to post-determined standards, let alone with no alternative meeting these standards is plain stupid.

I wouldn't mind seeing Giteau dropped for a test to see how we go, we need to try other guys there at some point just in case he gets an injury and we need someone else to step into Cooper's backline. But not until after the last NZ test, as we need our best team out for that game! A win in Hong Kong will be great for the teams confidence and a huge breakthrough.

The McCaw try sucked, it was a good idea from NZ but they mis-timed it. At least the refs and the rest of the world got their wake up call in a tri nations game rather than a more important test. At the end of the day we let in other weak tries so there is no one else to blame.

Deans should send Giteau back to play for the Tiges in subbies. Go skull some schooeys after training with the lads down at Dick's Pub and HTFU. The reason he can't kick this year is 'cause he's still tripping over his bottom lip about the vice captaincy.

    Where TF has Rex gone?

I want to say something about rugby being a team game, about not relying on kicking to win matches, and about the talk that has been on this forum about lowering the value of penalties, but I'm a bit addled from work and study

Waylon was a country and western singer you poor old boy. Dementia is a cruel disease

The once mighty Ferris now drinking boutique beers and dribbling down his chin.

In the good ole days he'd be on the bar with his pants around his ankles shaking a massive tonk at the ladies and shotgunning cans

Giteau is softer than your old pekka

    Thats not entirely true.

When he didn't play against England in Perth Cooper and Barnes ran the backline perfectly. I can't remember back far enough to think of a test he hasn't played in other than that one (except one against Italy in 2008 when he came on for Barnes after 2 minutes).

The problem with Giteau is that he is a deceptive runner (when he runs vaguely straight) and a very good passer. He makes space for the players around him because he gets covered. But Cooper also makes space with his bullet passes and similar deceptive running and Beale is getting to be quite a handful at fullback too.

Which makes him a good 12, but we're not exactly short of good 12s are we?

We can afford to bench him in the spring tour and try to find a solution to the problem

Don't need satellite technology to help, just adjust the tee a half inch to the left.
Each kick was equally away to the right.

Speaking of technology etc, I always understood that the TMO could only adjudicate inside the in-goal?
Was requesting the TMO to look to see if the player (been a long week, think it was Turner?) was in touch out of order or have the parameters changed?
