I thought Sharpie had extended during last season?
Maybe just wishful thinking...
If Sharpie was to leave and you were going for a young VC to blood I would find it hard to go past Bam-Bam.
My observation of his behaviour throughout the season but especially immediately after the Canes win (first to go to the opposition from the huddle, very genuine etc) earmark him to me as a definite future Club Captain and his field presence will only continue to grow.
My hypothetical if Sharpie went would be Hennas for a year or two then Bam-Bam.
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Reasonable choice Burgs, after all Hennas did a pretty good job as captain of the Perth Sprit so hes had some exposure.
Good pick Burgs, I though Bamm Bamm a bit young yet though.
I still vote for Gits, it'll help to entrench his leadership of the backline, He certainly has the media savvy and he seems to thrive on responsibility....Easy pick for me, and it takes some pressure of Hennas.....never a bad thing to spread the load away from your scrumhalf if you can!

I like the idea of an 8 or 9 as a captain. Its a good area to run the show from. As I see it Henjak is a good option having already captained the Spirit and it would be throwing a bone to keep him in light of the fact that the ARU might try and shaft him too. Scott Staniforth will be around until at least 2009 and as he is the current VC he is likely to replace Sharpie. Giteau would be a good option. I think Tamati Horua would be good after a season at the Force under his belt. He is a number 8 with captaincy experience (u/21s).
