Red face France vs Ireland ... why the cup's coming south

    12 - 0 France half time.

For gods sake these guys are slow. Both halfs are brewing a cup of tea when the ball comes out of ruck and mauls, any of the T3 teams would nail them.

Good game thus far by Ref White, though the French are getting the benefit imho; early Irish foot on the line call, what did happen to that advantage to the Irish, if you are going to get on the wrong side of the ruck.

France playing okay, Ireland look out of ideas when they have the ball.

Upshot, regardless if it's France or Ireland in the quarter ABs through to the semi. The real World Cup is going to start at the semi final stage imho, what the hell has happened to Northern Hemisphere rugby ... hugely disappointed.

Okay back to the ruck and maul *yawn* (in more ways than one, could have been at a all night horror marathon rather than watching what amounts to a club game).

What a terrible display of rugby by both teams, they both might as well go home now.

It was not all bad. That chip kick into the corner for the French winger to score was a gem. What give me the squirts was that pair of Pommy plonkers who were calling the game.

France has improved their defence, no doubt. But for the first 60 minutes they played 10-man rugby. That banana kick from Freddy was a beauty but he showed only glimpses of what he can do.

They won't trouble any of the SH teams on that form. But I sure wouldn't write them off just yet. They are famous for not turning up sometimes and if they defend like that on a day when things "click" for them, they can give anyone a scare.

I regretted getting up for that one! Sleeping would have been so much better.

I said to a work mate yesterday (who is a kiwi) that we might as well skip the whole tournament and go best of 7 between Aus & NZ.

I was expecting more from this game. The Irish were 1 dimensional. I think the French lacked any flair what so ever.
