Just a curious thought, Rick. Blair Morris got two yellow cards last week and your article stated he got the mandatory suspension. Yet he is reported to have played for Nedlands against Palmyra today. No doubt the video will establish if this was the case
If so, in the words of the immortal Julius Sumner Miller, why was it so?

simple. he is a nedlands player. its quite obvious by now that there are the laws and rules for other clubs but nedlands have there own rule book.

I asked Mitch Hardy the exact same question.

It turns out that Morris appeared before the judiciary, the video evidence was reviewed and the decision was over-ruled, as Richard Brown's was, and he was free to play.

In the article, I should have said "may be suspended".

    pretty much. thats rugbywa.

like nedlands got 3 warnings for stomping, a warning for tripping, and a warning for a blatently attempt to punch a player in a ruck.

im no genious but arent stomping/tripping/punching or attempting yellow cards? and im sure pally hav been sin binned for alot less the that.....oh wait i forgot we are pally not nedlands.

Its just going to be sweeter beating them in 2 weeks time.

Not having been at the game, I can't comment on the apparently specific incidents, but no, the lack of sin-binning is not rugbywa, it's the ref on the park at the time.

And, pruc, my favourite one-eyed Paly supporter, rugbywa have bugger all to do with the referees; they issue no instructions other than "The Crimes Act" at the start of each season. You can see it here (http://www.warura.rugbynet.com.au/ve...mesAct2006.doc) if you are interested in following this up, rather than just having a whinge.

Rugbywa ratify the referee appointments (made by the Referees' Association) and each of the 1st grade semis have the top two ranked referees in WA. So, if you didn't like what you saw yesterday then, sorry, no-one will get a higher-ranked ref next weekend. So you'll either have the same ref again or one who was, as at last weekend, ranked lower than he.

...and I am supremely confident that whichever referee is in charge of any match really couldn't give a toss about which team is which - we can only referee the game we see before us.

But then, when all is said & done, the one-eyed supporters are out there en masse during finals..... who'd be a ref, hey?

What are the rules/regulations regarding runners in the finals. The paly runner was told they were only allowed two, but neddies had four, when he queried this, he was told by the female rugby wa rep that those were the rules 2 runners only and he shouldnt argue.

Runners? Has rugby become like mungo or drug-ball? What's wrong with having 30 players & 1 referee the only ones on the pitch when the ball is in play.......hmmm, the good old days were much simpler!!

"Runners" can only run on during breaks in the game.
