Palmyra in Second Spot (For Now)

After a perplexing first half, in which Palmyra lead 19 to nil scoring 3 tries in the opening 15 minutes, the score was 19 to 17 at half time, with Wanneroo having the better of the last 20 minutes.

Whilst Palmyra had the excuse of several players out due to injury, they played insipidly up to half time, and a betting man would have backed the Roo dogs to win.

The second half was a different matter, and obviously the riot act was read by coach Jason Jones, as Palmyra came out firing to win by 62 points to 17, holding Wanneroo scoreless in the half.

This win puts Pally in second spot, as Kalamunda crumbled to the Nedlands Juggernaut 60 plus to 22.

Second grade lost 42 points to 15 to Wanneroo, with several sixth graders backing up (the other grades were away at Joondalup), and the mighty Sixths beat the Dogs 5 tries to 2, hopefully securing 4th place, at least temporarily, provided perennial beneficiaries of the bye, Southern Lions, lost one of the few games they have actually played this year against Joondalup. Lions get 3 byes, Palmyra get 1, go figure.

    Don't know other scores yet.

Next week its the Rockingham giant killers, so nothing is guaranteed yet, except that Palmyra will have first grade in the finals.

And I now see that Lions sixths beat Joondalup but are now on the same number of points and same percentage as Palmyra. Interesting times.

Didn't think you were instrested in that result - but a fair number of combinations going on here to - looks like Joondalup Colts are minor champions as their last 2 games are forfeit

6th grade are in the finals
5th grade have blown it with their defeat today - Thanks Paly !
3rd grade next weeks game is make or break for minor premeirship - the bonus point helped today - Thanks Paly !

So what is Paly expecting ?

I expect Palmyra we're hoping for more from today.
In the premier grade you are almost set as runners up - depending on how hungry Rocky are next week! However the Nedlands score line paints a picture.
Your reserves were not in the race for the finals anyway.
The 3rd grade results Arks 15-13 Nedlands Joondalup 52-0 Palmyra sets up a winner take all next week at John Dunn Oval between Arks and Joondalup!
5th grade 15-5 result was good solid result for you guys! Watch out for Arks though...
You guys did the business in the 6th grade against Wanneroo 31-14...and well Southern Lions set the trap and the Brothers fell into it! Will Curtin show up next week against Southern Lions and do you a favour in the 6th grade? Good luck against the top of the table team University...
