Help Save SportFM 90.5!

There is a strong possiblity that SportFM will CEASE broadcasting as of March 2006. That is unless we can convince the Australian Communications Media Authority (ACMA) that Perth DOES NEED a sports station.

If the ACMA does not receive enough letters or emails of support for SportFM, the station will cease broadcasting PERMANTELY.

This will mean NO independant live Western Force broadcast!

The choice is ours, Western Force broadcasts (and other sport) or a radio station for over 55 year olds ? (Capitol FM will get the license if it is revoked)

So therefore it is up to YOU, the loyal listeners, to make sure the ACMA hears what YOU have to say.

There are two ways you can make yourself be heard...

1. (Most preferred) Send a letter of support to...

On the back of the letter write "Letter of Support for SportFM"

The letter doesn't have to be long, just a paragraph or so describing what you enjoy about SportFM and how you would like to see the station continue to broadcast.

2. Send an email of support to info@sportfm905.com

Which ever option you choose, the team at SportFM thanks each and every one of you for your support...it's much appreciated and hopefully we can continue to provide more great sports talk and action on a full time basis!

Don't let this one slide folks, it would be a great shame to allow one of our states few rugby voices to be shut down. It is a treat to be able to listen to the local goings on during the season from a 1000 kms away via the net.
Make sure you take the few minutes to write a letter of support and help keep Leon and the crew on air and online.

As a Western Australian, a Sports Fan and in particular a Rugby supporter, I feel that the continued operation and broadcasting of SportFM 90.5 is essential in maintaining a broad and balanced network of radio stations in the Perth metropolitan area.

It's no secret that Rugby fans in WA have received a raw deal as far as media exposure is concerned over the years, SportFM 90.5 have been doing their best to help give Rugby supporters some overdue coverage of this great game on Perth radio! Losing this just as the game is about to get a huge boost with the Western Force coming into being would be a very sad thing indeed.

SportFM 90.5 are the only non-commercial broadcaster committed to live broadcasts of all Western Force games.

SportFM 90.5 also broadcasts Local Rugby Union, the only radio station in Australia which regularly broadcasts Local Rugby Union action. They are also the only radio station in Australia which broadcasts matches from the Telstra Australia Rugby Shield competition.

All this and we have only covered a single sport! SportFM 90.5 are also dedicated to providing coverage of soccer, cricket, backetball, AFL - most major and a few minor sports played in Australia!

I can only imagine what they will be able to offer with 7 day a week coverage! SportFM 90.5 are unique and offer a service which no other radio station in Perth offer, the last thing we need is another over 55s station!

Please, keep them on the air!
