    Ireland lose at Murrayfield

    Ireland lose at Murrayfield

Ireland were beaten 31-21 by a vigorous Scotland team today at Murrayfield and it looks like being a sleepless night tonight for Irish coach Eddie O'Sullivan ahead of his final team selection tomorrow morning.

Both jerseys are shite and whats with the socks? Mungo jerseys, but Scotland were good and probably played the best they have for many a long day. Im sure our reident socks Tef and Jedi will put us in the picture.

Not a good day yesterday ! - I liked the Jerseys esp Scotlands - O'Gara coming back from injury - O'Sullivan wanted this test to choose his final squad - so it was a semi second string side - bet O' Sullivan is crying now - I certainly am - what a lot of ********s

Well done Scotland - they deserved victory on the day

I watched the game last night too and I thought the jerseys were almost as ugly as the wallabies new ones! They look cheap and tacky and no where near as nice as their old ones.

The green of Irelands old jerseys was so beautiful so i just don't know why they'd change a good thing. And Scotland looked so much better in the plain navy blue jerseys.

And the two different sleeves thing just looks silly! Does it even make that much of a difference in the scrums?

An impressive (if somewhat surprising) performance by Scotland although they did revert to type early in the 2nd half to allow Ireland back in the game.

A huge improvement from the forwards and great to see some passion & pride back in their game (along with some big hits).

The backs, however, do look a little under-done and their defensive line needs sorting out before the RWC. The Irish try was ably assisted by our right-winger rushing out of the line to leave a 2-0 overlap on the outside. Maybe the centres were a little slow moving up but it did look ugly.

Yes, it did seem to be an understrength Irish team (TQ1 - I wouldn't call any team with BO'D 'second string') but you can only play the team opposite you on the pitch.

Not the finished article from Scotland but encouraging signs before the RWC.

Jersey's don't look too bad but what's with the socks? See what happens when you let marketing folk a sniff of a design change!!!!

    Got to watch yesterday's replay.
    Jersey's are a typical 21st century disgrace.
    Particularly disliked the Scottish ones.
Very impressed with the Scottish pack, especially in a dominant first fifteen-twenty minutes and superb throughout in the lineout.
As you say Jedi, reverted a little in the second half however can probably expect a little tiring with such a massive pack too.
Ireland were a little underwhelming though, as the commentators agreed, they had little to gain from the match and everything to lose.
On the strength of that I would tip Scotland to beat Italy and make the Quarters.
