Dungbeetles take out South West Shield

Dunsborough beat the Margaret River Gropers 24-0 in front of a good crowd at the Dunsborough Playing Fields on Saturday. The game was closely contested until the 50th minute when the Groper forward pack appeared to tire and Dunsborough took control.

It has been a successful year for the dungbeetles with the Country Carnival Cup and South West Shield safely stashed in the clubrooms.

Woke up a bit stiff and sore this morning, but strangely no hangover.

    Imaag.

    Congrtas on the win/s.

I heard a story the other night at about some of the local irish punters heading down to Dunny for the RWC 2003 final. They said they "conned" their way into the Dungbeatles Club rooms under the guise that they were "Irish Players" that missed thier flight and were stuck in WA. They tell me they were treated like royalty, front row seats on a couch for the match complete with country hospitality to boot. I believe they were "busted" before the end of the match. Any truth to this??

You beauty Imaag. Well done Champ!

Fitting that the South West Champions and the RugbyWA Club champions get together for a couple of great game in September.
You'll have to post something about Beetles v Brothers tour matches!!!

Now I was at the pub during the final and it was packed. The power went out for about 3 hrs with about 10 minutes left to play. I had to back my wagon into the beer garden and pump out 720AM. As most of the Dungaz were with me at this time, I can't remember an Irishman amongst them. MYTH BUSTED.

Congrats to you Imaag and all the boys on a job well done! If Gerry would of included your games in the tab we'd be rich.
