    Why have they swapped numbers?

Ashley-Cooper to Start at Fullback in Tri Nations Decider
    July 17, 2007 - 6:00pm
    Story by: ARU
Adam Ashley-Cooper dives over for a try
Qantas Wallabies Coach John Connolly has confirmed Adam Ashley-Cooper as his starting fullback for Saturday night’s Tri Nations and Bledisloe Cup decider against the New Zealand All Blacks in Auckland.
Confirmation came after a team training session at Coogee Oval in Sydney tonight, where Ashley-Cooper was given the nod over 72-Test veteran Chris Latham to wear the Wallabies Number 15 jersey. Latham will start the match on the reserves bench, while Drew Mitchell returns to the starting XV on the left wing. NB Mitchell will wear jersey no.11, while Mark Gerrard will occupy the right wing and wear jersey no.14.

Probably because Gerrard had a very ordinary game two weeks ago.

In my limited experience of know what wingers do on a rugby pitch, LEFT WINGS always wore #11 and RIGHT WINGS always wore #14.

Not sure I understand your confustion TiF.

I think I know what the confusion is Matt Dunning is at the top of list rather than Adam Ashley-Cooper. Under normal circumstances 2 dads being the fullback would come first and then everybody would whinge about how it should start with number 1 and then all the other player follow numerically.

In this case 1 was first, so we now in accordance with the bar room code of Rugby discussion we now move onto discussing who should play left and right wing and why! Eventually we decide it doesn't really matter and have a look at the subs bench.

McMenimem can play blind side and lock as well providing a line option. Latham is like having five backs in reserve!!!

It really is quite a simple process made difficult by retard journo's (TWF Members excluded of course ) who don't know their arse from their elbow.
You start at number one and read the team sheet as you would a written page of English text!

    Short meat heads: 1, 2, 3
    Tall meat heads: 4, 5
Fast psycho meat heads: 6, 7
    Big psycho meat head: 8
Skillful poser meat heads: 9, 10
    Clean meat heads: 11, 12, 13, 14
    Fast masochist meat head: 15

You have now got to #16 so why not just run it out with 16-22...

Of course the other reason why Drew Mitchell is wearing #11 (and this will come as no surprise to those on the 2nd Innrs tour) is that he struggles with simple arithmetic and so the #11 jersey is easier for him to find in the changing room.

I wonder why he didn't bulk up & play in the forwards.....it'd be a whole lot easier for him!!!!

Oh! Does anyone remember there is another team playing!
New Zealand have 2 wingers,,,their names escape for the moment...Rocky and Bullwinkle, no, Why and how! Oh, yes I remember now, Dave Hewitt and John Rocococococo. Dave is converted retired prop forward and John is from some small pacific island nation where cannibals live and worship elephants and monkeys.
I don't think we've got any problems against these mugs - except that Howitz and Rocock have scored about 20 tries between against the Wallabies.

Does it really matter which number they are wearing?

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
