Australian rugby is mourning the passing of former Wallaby John Fogarty, aged 78.
Known as a little man with a big heart, Fogarty played two Tests on the wing for the Wallabies in 1949.
He was also a member of the Trevor Allen-captained Wallabies squad which toured New Zealand and brought back to Australia the Bledisloe Cup for the first time.
Regarded as one of the smallest players ever to lace up a boot for the Wallabies, Fogarty will be remembered for his exceptional pace and his ability to bring down much larger opponents.
He began playing rugby at Brisbane's Nudgee College, before moving on to play for Brisbane's Brothers club.
His funeral will be held at Burstows Chapel in Toowoomba South at noon on Thursday, July 14.
