    Palmyra defeat Waneroo and Joondalup

The Northern suburbs came south like a bride on her wedding night and left like a nun in the bath- on arrival they had a soul full of hope and on departure had ...

Pally third and fifths accounted for Joondalup suprisingly comfortably, while sixths had a good tussle on their hands, winning 21 to 20. Ignore the result on the Rugby WA website which was arse about, it's wrong, as is often the case.

Pally seconds had a disciplined win over Wanneroo and the first grade result was never in doubt, although the Roo Dogs showed commendable spirit.

Nothing to write home about, Palmyra supporters, but we are definitely still in the chase in all grades, and next week's bye will give the club the chance to have players back from injuries in preparation for our French cousins from Rockingham and the second round.

Colts lost to Joondalup, but took the game to them, and were by no means overawed.

Whilst there is considerable noise emenating from opposition clubs, first grade coach Jason Jones has quietly developed an efficient squad which will account for most of the pretenders in the lead up to the finals.

Players of the day this weekend included Jerry Viriki who scored a superb try and was involved in most others, and James Stannard.

one of the mostboring games. so stop start. the ref was determinded to slow the game up. every ruck he would blow for a scrum and not let the game flow. and he continously penalised the attacking team. ewhich bemused must supporters.

because he didnt let the game flow. instead of letting the ruck go on for 10seconds long he would blow it up and hav a scrum. it wasnt jsut his fault. the wanneroo props couldnt hold pally so the scrums would continually be reset.

In defense of Pruc a lot of the Joondalup lads said the same thing - in this instance the ref did not have a good day - it happens !

Me thinks a little retraining for the refs, even more so at scrum time. Most have never been involved in the art of scrumming. Which shows even more with the touch engage rules.
