    Welcoming S.C.R.U.M. to TWF

Welcome aboard the good ship TWF to our friends from S.C.R.U.M!
This is your very own open forum to use as you will however, we all look forward to you all getting involved in the other forums as well.
For anyone not yet involved feel free to have a look around www.scrum.org.au and if you feel the urge and are over 35 then get in touch with one of the teams.
To get you rolling, here's the latest on the next World Festival!

Golden Oldies World Festival taking shape

The world's biggest rugby festival is looking to be bigger and better as the 2008 event approaches.

Organisers of next year's 17th Air New Zealand Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, are thrilled that more than 50 teams have signed up already. Up to 3000 visitors are expected to take part in the Festival from September 1-8 2008. The 50 teams to sign up already come from 10 countries: Australia, Cook Islands, England, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Switzerland and USA.

It is the fourth time the festival has been staged in Europe with more than 100 teams from 15 nations expected to attend. Scotland will host the festival for the first time following London in 1985, Dublin in 1993 and Toulouse in 2001.

I thought I'd keep this thread up and running to let people know what's happening in the over 35's rugby world.

Carnival tomorrow for ARKS rugby up in Kelmscott.

John Dunn Oval, Third Ave, KELMSCOTT WA 6111.

First game kicks off at 12.30.

Any new or old players looking for a game bring down your boots and ask around if any teams are short. We are, our games start at 2.30.

There must be people on this site looking for a game every fortnight.

New season starts April 3rd at 12:00pm Sunday the 3rd of April, Brown Park Swan View.

We're kicking off with the Bloodyslow Cup AND the Try Harder Nations.

The Bloodyslow Cup is for ex players and those among us who’ve never run on, and the over 60’s still playing. The participants will determine the level of play.

For the Try Harder Nations you'll need a jersey from your country of choice. A round robin event, the level of play will be lower or the same as any Sunday carnival.
If your countries numbers are too short to make a team then Barbarians may get to have a run.

We thought it was a good way to get to know players from other teams before the season begins, my moneys on Wales (to get flogged by the AB's, saffas and wallabies).

There's a PDF attachment for it but I don't know how to load the bloody thing on here.

Register your Interest if you want to come down.

Email your name & Golden Oldies club to the nation of your choice.

Regular season fixtures aren't set in concrete yet when they are I'll post em up here.

    Nice name pilfer

Hope you don't mind a state full of cranky coppers on your tail!

2009 Report, I believe last year they had 8000.

Apart from that though, hope you have a great season

I'm used to dealing with cranky coppers, that's not an issue

I'm not sure who pilfered the name from the original one in Newman.

Another good festival yesterday. Anyone out there interested in a game then please feel free to PM me for any info. Next carnivals in two weeks. Great fun to be had every fortnight.

Over 35 is a guide not a necessity, as long as you play in the right spirit.
