Because the AFL have been waiting longer for a bigger stadium.

Stupid logic, should build both at same time.

It would be cheaper in the long term that way.

Alas who knows until the Stadium Taskforce report on what will happen...Its just advice this report, it doesn't mean the Government will follow through with it.

Well if that's the case, - ten years for a rectangular stadium - we may as well say goodbye to the Force now.

As I've said before, 27-thousand last week to see the Force beat the Hurricanes, then this week, with the Force coming off a win, and odds-on to beat the Qld Reds, only 26-thousand.

And I know of several people who not only would rather, they have spent their money buying Foxtel rather than buy tickets to Subiaco Oval

    The key word being oval.

It's not just my opinion, but what are the membership figures, 2006 Vs 2007.

How many 30-thousand plus crowds in 2006, as opposed to 2007, when this year, the Force are a winning team.

Subiaco oval will be the death of the Force.

    Sadly.

I know there were many factors at work. but the Reds......for the want of a rectangular stadium.

By the time the Glory got one, it was too late.

My kingdom, my kingdom, my rugby team......for the want of a ****ING RECTANGLE.

    EDIT.

    I didn't know that use these four letters in a row, * - * - * - * and then putting them together gives you 4 asterisks.

The Whole Force is considered an "all ages" website. Subsequently we don't encourage the posting of colourful language that may corrupt the minds of our younger members.

The word that you were attempting to use I would assume was blocked by a program Coach has in place to ensure our young members stay protected from our passionate members that may have forgotten about out language policy.

Mate, I'm not complaining about the programme.

Just trying to explain why there are asterisks in my posts.

    Cheers

Should the crowds drop below 20K, Force can move to MES

The premier is a avid Dockers member and most of the other pollies are AFL people. Most of the movers and shakers in this town are AFL people. They need a bigger stadium too. They will look after AFL first and will come up with plenty of logical arguments to justify shafting The Force. If the Glory and (potential) WA Reds fail in the intervening years well their fans have let them down. Members Equity is sufficient for both at the moment so it shouldn't affect them any time soon.

But I reckon, one way or the other The Force is here to stay.

Don't expect too much help from the media over the issue. Most of them are only feigning interest in Rugby and not making much of a fist of that either. They will kick the game fair in the cods at the first opportunity.

We need a new rectangular stadium, not an extension of MES! I can understand the AFL getting their stadium first, as the number of Eagles and Dockers members is very high..............but im not too happy bout it!!

sad but true, but im sure no one wants crowds to drop to that level, we have a decent team, crowd, backroom staff, sponsors in place and its sad the stadium issue has the power to stuff the whole thing up.

Yeah but we have to remember that out of the 19000 "seats" at MES circa 4000 of those are standing , 9000 odd permanent seats and the rest are temporary. It's way worse for corporate, the life bloody of the Force, they only have about 300 corporate seats and at present we are easily hitting the Subiaco capacity of 3300. MES is not the answer in any way.

If we want our stadium then we have to fight for it, not roll over and take it up the arse and blaim the government. I mentioned something like this before and got a total of about 8 replies. Extremely dissapointing, so if you want to do something show some support and maybe we can start something off.

Stop complaining and let's do something!

Agree completely. I've answered a couple of surveys about it, made some talk-back calls & written to my local state Rep so far. If there's any other avenues, petitions etc., perhaps we could list them in a special forum, Coach.

I'd suggest getting active on talk-back radio as a good start. George Grljusic, the late Wally Foreman, among others have championed the need for a completely new multi-purpose stadium.

Getting a specialised rectangular stadium as well and at the same time might prove a little more of a fight.
