    The Force line of attack

Did any of you see Inside Rugby last night? Kafe brought up a very good point with the Force's complete lack of "depth" in attack. The Force players are lined up 1 - 7 in a flat straight line, and simply jog into the defencive line at a plodding pace that is ridiculously easy to defend against. Whos fault do you think this is, Mitchell or Giteau's? I think it's Giteau who is vastly over rated. I have no idea why Hilgendorf hasn't found his way back into the team yet.

This is pretty obvious to all and must be a Mitchell tactic. The flat backline is something he forced upon the All Blacks. That, together with the aimless incessant kicking from all the Force backs, indicates its part of the game plan.

But Henry famously adopted the flat backline in 2004 to great disaster with Spencer, but under Carter it's proven to be unbeatable. The Crusaders employ a simmilar tactic, complete with seemingly aimless midfield kicks that win them nine games out of ten. It's not so much the game plan that's faulty, as it is Giteau's inability to really grab a hold of the game by the scruff of the neck and control it like a man. Is the $6 million dollar man just a poor man's Carlos Spencer? I mean we all know what happens to Carlos Spencers come world cup time don't we.
