    TV coverage of Irish Test

Not sure if Seven/GWN have seen the error of their ways, been overwhelmed by complaints or are just toying with us as usual however, for those of you who haven't checked the program guides yet the coverage will be on both Seven and GWN from 10:45 pm Saturday night with replays at 6am for Seven and 6:30am for GWN on Sunday morning.
Now they just need to lose the hour of advertising, improve the match analysis and get commentators to the games.....

They'll never do it - Gordon Bray is useless!!! They need to get that real good commentator from 89.7 FM...................

89.7 ? Heard them once or twice - they did an OK job of it ...

The one thing that always gets me about TV commentators is their assumption that all the audience are (or are able to be) watching the footage. Shits my blind father-in-law no end. I've tried my hand at a secondary commentary - I should stick to computers!

I reckon Gordon Bray has been produced out of good commentary. My vague recollections of the golden years of broadcast on ABC are of a great commentator. His commentatory on the Rise and Rise Grand Slam DVDs are far better than what he puts out now days.
I really like the fellas over on ABC TV for the NSW and Qld Club matches and there are a couple of really good ABC Radio ones too.
Any comment on 89.7 would be purely stirring as I haven't heard a broadcast as yet. Do you webcast the matches yet no.8?
I just feel that we deserve a bit better than half an hour of pregame including 15 minutes of ads and 5 minutes of cross promotional blurbs. By the time they do the intros of the "specialist" commentators there is hardly any time left to discuss the match ups, tactics, players etc. Then post match we get a few one liners a couple of highlights, another fifty ads and cross promotions and an apologetic, that's all we have time for, look forward to seeing you for the next match.
We could do worse than have SBS take the rights to rugby, Australia won last night and I can hear them still analysing every move, feeling and emotion in the background as I type!
They promote it as the "World Game" and they are committed to treating it as such.
Channel Seven take note because they leave you for dead.
