Waratahs players are livid over the sledging antics of rookie Sharks halfback Rory Kockott during their round-two loss to the Durban side last Friday night.
It is understood the cocky 20-year-old infuriated the Waratahs with his persistent spray of individual insults that were even aimed at NSW captain Phil Waugh.
"He was having a go at everyone, everyone ... even Waughy who he kept saying to: 'Who do you reckon you are, Waugh?'," a NSW player told the Herald yesterday. (ooooooh nasty.....)
Incensing the Waratahs further was that Kockott, a recruit from the Lions with one Super 14 cap, only started because the first and second choice halfbacks, Springbok Ruan Pienaar and Scott Mathie, were injured.
Perhaps the most galling outcome was Kockott being given the thumbs up by the local media and even considered as a man-of-the-match candidate by one South African website.
"Was he?" said a Waratahs player when told, before conceding: "Still, he wasn't bad."
