Second half of "Cross examined" article c/o Rugby Heaven:
Coach: John Mitchell
"The challenge ahead is a big one, but one that we're very excited about.
"We're expecting to improve significantly and the ultimate aim is to win a Super 14 title.
"When that comes, where it comes, how it comes - that is something that will be decided in the future.
"We've got some new players come on board and a big part of the off-season has been about those new individuals getting to know their teammates.
"I would say there is a different feeling now that we're not starting from scratch.
"It's about coming into the squad and knowing what it is to be a Force man.
"With so many good players in our back line we are looking to continue to develop the style of play we began last year.
"The addition of Matt Giteau has been an important one for us. He will play at 12. As for the make-up of the back line, we've got plenty of versatility.
"I won't elaborate on the positional decisions at this stage, but the versatility we've got gives us the option of adding an extra back onto the bench.
"As far as the attitude of the squad, I couldn't be any happier with how the players have come together and are preparing for the challenges ahead."
