I got the following of the Crusaders web site

Rising star: Openside flanker David Pocock might only be 20 but, such is his considered potential, the Force wanted to use him as a 17-year-old! Raised in the central Zimbabwe town of Gweru, Pocock immigrated to Australia with his family in 2002 and made the Australian Schools tour of Europe three years later. A World Cup winner with the Australian Under-19s in 2006, Pocock handled himself well during his first season in ‘open’ company, winning a call up to the 2007 Australia A squad at competition's end. Mind you, playing with his elders is something Pocock has been doing ever since his first rugby training in the Under-7s. He lasted just one day before he was dispatched to play with the Under-10s because it was considered that he was being too rough!

...and now, finally, he has scored his first try in Super Rugby! A fine finishing effort in the right corner vs Crusaders Sunday 9 March 2008.

Many more to come, no doubt.

Yip, my Pastor at church, John Pocock told me about Bam Bam, he is the uncle of David Pocock. I think once again this is a product from Africa going to serve Australian rugby, what a loss!

Nothing wrong with a Zimbo wanting to play for the Wallabies.
Zimbabweans are as proud as they come, so you'll find that even if he plays Aussie rugger and holds an Aussie passport, he will always be african and that will never be taken away from him and nor should it.

look at it this way, even if things werent so bad there, the infrastructure and development he would get would be paltry compared to what he's getting at the Force and being in Aus.

    Fambai Zvakanaka Bambam!

    I hear tell that:

    a) Bam Bam now has his Australian citizenship. (this surprised me as I thought he already had it), and

    b) No problems with him re-signing with , just some final touches to the contract, then he signs on the dotted

Sauces who tell me this shall remain unnamed, but I shall endeavour to confirm by other means.....

BamBam has set up a charity with Luke Holmes called the Why Generation. And according to him, its partly thanks to Hillsong's iHeart Revolution idea that it came about. (Dave's a massive hillsong united fan and devout christian.)

Personally, i think this charity might be a good reason for Bam Bam to re-sign with the force. Other than the force being the best team in Australia, of course.
