Scotland put in a good performance

    Scotland 48 Rumania 6

I know Rumania are not a great side but a few years back we would have been nervous even against Rumania. The Rumanian pack is made up of French League players and are not by any means shabby, however there backs don't have the same experience and Scotland capaitised on that. By all accounts the forwards had a game on there hands and Scotland's backs played well. It's good to see Scotland gain some confidence and play more consistant rugby. We also capped a few new players with two of them scoring tries. This could mean we are gaining some depth in the side prior to the RWC, something that has always been missing. Unfortuantely Jason White, our captain, was taken off with an injured knee but hopefully he'll be back in time for the Australian game.

I do support the Wallabies but they will always come second to Scotland for me. So bring it on and let's hope it's a great game.

I think the kilt may have to be worn for that game, what you think Jediknight?

I recall watching a televised World Cup match,I think it was in 1991, between Romania and Scotland. Scotland killed them in the backs, but I would have given the points to Romania in the tight and in the rucks and mauls. Scotland did well in the lineouts from memory, through Doddie Weir. Unfortunately I haven't seen this latest game as it would have been interesting to see the difference.

It is encouraging to see Scotland put away a '2nd string' team. In the past we have struggled to post good scores against teams that we should put plenty past. We've lacked that killer instinct against the 'mediocre' teams (does this category now include the once might England team....??? I think we should be told!!!).

It's good for the new players to show their stuff and get on the scoreboard and hopefully the district set-up / Celtic League is starting to pay dividends for Scottish rugby.

It's certainly good to see some home-grown talent coming through - and most (maybe even all...) of the new recruits play for one or other of the Scottish districts.

By the way, it was class to hear Beattie Snr commentating Beattie Jnr's try - very understated, he left it up to his co-commentator to do the enthusing!

Perhaps if they drank less Rum and more Scotch the ROmanians may do better
Well done to the Scots though, now you have beaten a Third Tier side you can set your sights on beating a Second Tier side.......like the Wallabies
(Mostly) Kidding on both counts, a good solid win and Scotland winning matches is good for the health World Rugby so I'm hoping for a good solid 6N from them before getting stuck into the RWC.
And before any of you haggis munchers take me the wrong way, Scotland is "my" European team being of that heritage myself
