    Can Wilkinson make France?

Following a list of injuries and ailments since Sydney glory long enough to graduate your average Pakistani Doctor, rounded out by the recent kidney injury, what is the likelyhood of Jonny Wilkinson being able to play in France next year?
Will the prat with the gold plated boots and diamond screw-ins rise again or will one World Cup victory prove to be an unfullfilled career for one with so much potential?

I do think they'll try to play him even if he's not 100%, just for the fear factor alone.

I agree .. I've chosen 100% that they will try their best to have him there, whether or not he makes a contribution is time for another poll

In a word, no, not a chance. I remember a similar debate before the British Lions tour to NZ, and what an impact he made there!

England will no doubt concentrate on Hodgson, who seems to have sorted out his 'can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo' pressure kicking problems, and has matured into an excellent international flyhalf.

From a recent article in The Times, WC winning Scrumhalf Matt Dawson is quoted:
"Finally, Hodgson versus Wilkinson. “There’s no one to cover Charlie and that really worries me. Charlie is just flying. I would have Charlie ahead of Jonny even if he was fit. Jonny is fantastic but as an all-round fly half — decision-making, tactical kicking, passing — Charlie is so far out front.

“Having played with both of them, Charlie is a better all-round No 10. There is no way I would pick Jonny ahead of Charlie. I would put Jonny in at 12 if he was fit and maximise those distribution skills and give himself that extra bit of room to create some space. But for game management you have to have Charlie in at 10.”

That's mainly due to me returning home to Oz...

That shocker he missed in the 21-17 loss to the Wallabies I'm claiming full credit for. I was sitting in the front row about 10 metres left of the posts, Charlie was lining up a sitter of a kick to take the lead and I started a chant which the 50 other Aussies happilly joined in on:

Charlie later said in a press interview that the seldging got to him and as a result he was getting his teammates to sledge him while he kicked in an effort to overcome it.

hahaha what ever makes you happy

dont want to burst your bubble but he and you can say it was the sledging but all too often he misses simple kicks that you must be kicking at that level.

How about another poll - where will England finish in the 2007 RWC

    1. Bundled out after the group matches
    2. Set packing after the Quarters
    3. Limped home after the Semi's
    4. Unlucky to lose the big one
    5. Winner

So... What you're saying basically is that he's s**t anyway? Was that the goal of your post to admit to him being garbage anyway?

I think you should all leave "Wilko" and the england team alone. It is more than possible that they will revert to Wilko even if he is not fully fit and, for me, that would be a great decision as I love to see england play to their strengths. In addition, if we sit here quietly we will be able to hear the english fans spin themselves into a frenzy of self belief and arrogant ranting while the english team implodes with players pointing fingers and accusing the world of being nasty to them.

    Oh how the mighty fall.

And before anybody starts, the mark of great players and great teams is consistency and longevity.
