I have always thought daylight saving was a good thing, especially on those balmy summer evenings when you have a few pints under your belt, with a barbie cookin away and the rugrats running around, and you can still enjoy yourself instead of heading inside for the lights...Weeknight barbies can also be enjoyed, and burgs would be happy as more cattle will need to be eaten to cater for barbie bonanza. Only real problem is that the next morning you need to rise earlier than you would like, but the body clock is an amazing thing and you will adapt in no time. Then when it`s over you will be sleeping in an extra hour until your body clock goes back to normal.
All in all, daylight saving rocks...

Seeing as a quite a lot of countries already have DLS, why not just get all countries to move to the next time zone? That way its a permanent DLS all year round.

While I dont see the merits of DLS in WA, particularly up north of our fine state.

In Sydney there is nothing more depressing then going to work when it is dark and coming. Something like DLS really does make a difference.

One thing that occured to me today is that Sydney and (to a bit lesser extent) Melbourne are on the Eastern end of their time zone where as Perth is right on the Western end of its time zone.
There is even approximately 15 minutes in sunlight between my home and the farms at Eneabba.
It is so extreme in WA that (some may well be suprised to hear) that we actually have a localised time zone on the Nullabor which is half that of Central Standard (South Australia) and Western Standard (WA) because they are so far away. I recall it stretching from Mundrabilla to the Border but may be wrong there, it was a few years ago.
I don't have time down here on this 'pute to debate the pro's and con's but I thought others may like to know the above...

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

At ten to one against it you would have to wonder why we need it.

it's about time they did it. From a business perpesctive, that extra hour we lose in summer by not having it can be a killer.

And for those of us poor bastards who are stuck in an office all day. It is nice to actually enjoy some extra sunlight when I get home.

    You know it makes sense.
