Captains and head coaches from both sides have each nominated their top three players from the opposing team, allocating three votes, two votes and one vote, respectively.

Interesting votes from our game. I wouldn't have put Williams or Dolly in our best few performers, as they both made a number of costly errors. I'd have put Pearce, Swain, any of our backrow, Stewart and Pietsch above them all.

Likewise some interesting selections for MP. Thought Savea was relatively quiet, while Taumoefolau and Faiilagi had great games.

The beauty of this voting system is that it cuts out the popularity vote and most importantly the five minute highlight reel vote and actually allows those at the cold face and more knowledgeable people to make a decision on who is best on ground from a player and coach perspective.

Yeah, I'd probably discount Pietsch based upon minutes played. He did well when he was on, but not enough of it to eclibse blokes like say Stewart who held up a backline that was a man down for the most important ten minutes of the match.
