New Wallabies Coach - wonder if Gats would be interested...

Apparently, Gatland has been in talks with Sky Sports about joining their punditry team for the British & Irish Lions tour of Australia.

Wonder if Rugby Australia have added him to the list of potential successors to Joe...

Considering his recent record at Wales, you'd think even RA would baulk at hiring Gats. I mean, he's never coached or even played for Randwick or Sydney Uni.

No country has ever won a world cup with a foreign coach. Should be an Aussie....Larkham is my choice.

Seeing as how your list of champions is 4 in 4 decades - and one them a one-off; a statistician might question your methodology.

That's a pretty inspired choice, Link is the Aussie I would think is closest to a Super Joe in rugby intellect and ability to formulate and coach multiple tactics.

The only other guy in I can think of with that similar quality is David Nucifora; though I think that might go down like a lead balloon. But I always admired his Brumbies side's ability to change plan during a match; something Eddie's Brumbies teams couldn't do.

Yeah, interesting that the two Aussie coaches most likely to emulate Joe Schmidt are the two that've been locked out of the building for YEARS.

also interesting that it was player shitfuckery that killed both of them off.

I see your point, but after 10 world cups, still no foreign coach as a winner.
