    2024 Super Rugby U16s and U19s

From a Western Force point of view a bit of mixed day out for the two teams in round 1.

    Under 16's 19-18 win:

The forwards had a good outing led by prop and skipper Dozion Laupama, and the three loose forwards RJ Van Der Merwe, Joel Ockenden, and Rhymen Tusi. Chase Bunce will also be one to keep an eye on over the next few weeks. Overall while a bit scrappy they scapped well enough to get over the line in a match that could have gone either way.

    Under 19's 53 - 23 loss:

Started well enough but got overwhelmed by a very good and cohesive Brumbies outfit. Hooker Ollie Barrett had a decent outing together with Finn Prass, Peni Naqau and Boston Fakafanua, however I was most impressed with Oakley Pearce and it will be good to see how he develops.

Mixed results for the boys yesterday, both are now 1 and 1.

Under 16's went down to Melbourne Rebels 24 - 27:

Boys played well but could not turn early pressure into points, and made a few more handling errors than the previous week. The loss of Chase Bunce just before half time, and Rhymen Tusi missing a portion of the second half, gave the Rebels a bit of momentum with their bigger and faster players, but a good fightback in the final quarter saw us get close and almost home.

Again liked what I saw and Dozion Laupama, Apakuki Te Hiko, Joel Ockenden, RJ Van Der Merwe, Rhymen Tusi, Fatani Fatanitavake, Chase Bunce are starting to show great development. Looking forward to seeing them "live" on Sunday 23/10/2024 v Reds.

    Under 19's good win 47 - 22

Good outing and boys played very well, looks like they are starting to come together. Like last week started well and at least this week they seemed to keep it up and the result speaks for itself.

Liked what I saw from Ollie Barrett, Tafito Ahki, Boston Fakafanua, Oakley Pearce and Finn Prass.
