There's nothing like selecting a consistent team for building consistent play, eh?

I'm not sure Schmidt's reasons for White. But gee White looked pissed off at some points during the game. Looked like he was doing everything to earn his place in Schmidt's plan and maybe possibly felt others were letting him down. Or he just had Bledisloe intensity

All Blacks turn to veterans as they confirm squad for second Bledisloe Test
    Thu, Sep 26, 2024, 7:36 AM
    AAP

The Wallabies host the All Blacks in Round 5 of The Rugby Championship in an afternoon Test at Accor Stadium.
All Blacks coach Scott Robertson has moved Damian McKenzie on from No.10 as he searches for answers to New Zealand's scratchy form under his tenure.

Beauden Barrett will start from the pivotal position on Saturday when the All Blacks take on the Wallabies, the Bledisloe Cup already secured for a 22nd straight year.

Watch the 2024 Bledisloe Cup series live, ad-free and exclusive on Stan Sport.

New Zealand will be packed with experience at Wellington's Sky Stadium, with all but one of the run-on team - blindside flanker Wallace Sititi - with at least 20 Tests.

Former captain Sam Cane, who will earn his 100th cap, and hometown hero TJ Perenara, back in the XV for Cortez Ratima, will make their last international appearances in New Zealand.

Both are off to play club rugby in Japan next season, making them ineligible to wear a black shirt.

Cane is the 13th player to play 100 games for the All Blacks.

“This will be a particularly special night for Sam and TJ and the boys will put in a performance that honours their contribution to this team," coach Scott Robertson said.

"Sam will be joining an exclusive club of All Black centurions, which is testament to his fortitude and work ethic.

"As a Wellington man and the most-capped Hurricane of all time, we know that TJ is a crowd favourite in the capital and we look forward to him expressing himself on the field in front of friends and whānau at home.”

All Blacks Coach Scott Robertson and Captain Scott Barrett speak after their win over the Wallabies in Sydney
The All Blacks defeated Australia 31-28 last Saturday in Sydney and are firm favourites to back up their road win with a home success given the Wallabies have not beaten the Kiwis in New Zealand since 2001.

However, they cannot win the Rugby Championship after an inconsistent run in the southern hemisphere championship.

Robertson's side has lost twice to South Africa and a home Test to Argentina to sit third in the standings - above only Australia.

"We are excited about the opportunity this week to put in a complete performance against the Wallabies in Wellington," the coach added.

ALL BLACKS TEAM FOR BLEDISLOE II:

All Blacks (1-15): Ethan de Groot, Codie Taylor, Tyrel Lomax, Scott Barrett (capt), Tupou Vaa'i, Wallace Sititi, Sam Cane, Ardie Savea, TJ Perenara, Beauden Barrett, Caleb Clarke, Anton Lienert-Brown, Rieko Ioane, Sevu Reece, Will Jordan.

Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Tamaiti Williams, Pasilio Tosi, Patrick Tuipulotu, Luke Jacobson, Cortez Ratima, Damian McKenzie, David Havili.

It's likely that's the only way he'll conclusively prove he can handle the job better than shaky Noah.I expect he'll hit the field in the 78th minute.

Donaldson will be subbed on in the 74th minute with the Wallabies trialing 43-10 and all the Rugby pundits will say "Ben Donaldson isn't up to the Wallaby 10 jersey"

    From PlanetRugby again

    Carlo Tizzano

You can’t help but feel sorry for the flanker, who has been absolutely superb stepping in for the injured Fraser McReight. However, following McReight’s return, Tizzano has been unceremoniously dumped from the 23. The incumbent openside played well last weekend so was never going to be replaced but we at least thought a bench spot might be in the offing for Tizzano. Alas not.

You were close. I think he came on in the 76th minute, and for an injury in the backs, not for Lolesia.

Finally the Wallabies have put together a decent 80 minute performance against the All Blacks.

Shame it was split over two weeks.

To play 13 outside hunter paisami. He didn't even see a rumour that the ball existed.I'm sure that Lolesios failings will be attributed to his inexperienced and they'll be saying he just needs more time to develop as if 22 failed tests isn't enough time, but Donaldson is dumped halfway through one bad test and never seen again. And they wonder why the Wallabies are content with mediocrity.
