And I reckon Australia needs something similar. Or different. Something that takes the reasonably large number of humans we have in junior rugby and sorts through them to find the players who will be capable at the highest level and retains them.

Something that develops everybody who wants to put into the work into the best player that they can be.

Something that is devoid of the prejudice and cronyism that is killing the game today.

Honestly, the best system might be the type of centralisation that McLennan was pushing for, but the system is only one of the issues. The personalities need to change.
