did the Force let him go,or was it Pulu's decision not to seek another contract?

Given his birthplace it is surprising he hasn't been called into the USA Eagles before now, though they are not short of speed on the flanks. Maybe he has and declined? Next RWC he'll be 37.

Great bloke and had something extra to add when he could stay fit.

But I think the risk / return of keeping him on the park was not in his favour.

The fact he could only get in 4 NPC games is a telling factor.

MLR appears to be a better option.

In returning to TWF I noticed a lot of love for Toni that I hadn't developed watching alone during that time.
That is not to say I didn't appreciate him, he was always a selection (in front of Tiatia for example) for me, just that I would often wonder where the fan club was coming from. He seemed like a decent bloke from afar.
For me, he was a serviceable player, but the level he got to was really all he was destined to reach.
Was there some incident or event that explains his popularity on here?
A few times now I have sensed remorse or pinning for "what might have been" for him.

Gonna go on record as one of the fan club.

Pulu, when fit was probably our most devastating attacking runner, however he rarely played fully fit and more often didn't play at all.

Whenever he took possession I was always on the edge of my seat, because I knew I'd either see him step a million defenders or bugger something important in one of his lower legs and spend 6 weeks on the sidelines.

I can see the reasons why he might be let go and wouldn't blame Force HQ for making such a decision.

One of very few players who on their day is undefendable': Force close in on former Wallabies wrecking ball

Six years after equalling the Australian record for the most tries in a single Super Rugby season, wrecking ball Taqele Naiyaravoro has made the first steps towards a return to the competition.

The Roar can reveal the giant winger is currently on a train-and-trial contact with the Western Force, with coach Simon Cron keen to add another weapon out wide before the season starts next month.

Naiyaravoro, 32, left Cron and the Waratahs at the end of the 2018 season to join Northampton Saints in the English Premiership.

If he could get close to his best form and stay injury-free he would quickly become a fan favourite.

He posted a photo of himself laying in bed with a very distinct scribble (or an unfortunate birthmark...) on his bandaged left arm, so I'm guessing it's official.

"Minor setback to start the year but I'll be back in no time"
Can't see that being two weeks though, so a chance for IFL to state his case.

Force TV caught up with new Western Force recruit Tom Franklin on why the former Maori All Blacks lock has headed west, his early impressions and some of his past success stories.
New signing Tom Franklin says he sees similarities in the current Western Force group to the 2015 Super Rugby title-winning Highlanders side that he was a part of.

Ben Smith from The West reporting Nic White will miss the pre-season game but will ready to go for the season opener.

Surgery was to quell a bicep injury. (Whatever that means)

    Reattachment of bicep muscle. (INCORRECT)

I hear that it was a cleanup rather than a reattachment - which explains the stated outlook.
