    Despite the low ranking of Australia, with success next year there is a rapid pathway to more appropriate long term levels given the large points difference between the Wallabies and SA/NZ. Basically (relatively speaking) you don't go up beating those below you and you don't go down losing to those above you.

    So the difference in points between the Wallabies and the top (SA) is the same as the points difference as the Wallabies and Chile!

    That boggles the mind a little..........

    If our ranking gets worse we might have to question why the Wallabies are playing in that Biannual World League comp

    Yes, factually correct, but my observation is there tends to be "blockages" around certain levels that halts movement much beyond a couple of positions. If Chile were to beat Australia they would only halve the difference. If the beat them a second time they would halve that difference. But if in the meant time Australia beat say England then they would pull away again.
    It's basically impossible for #1 to get much above 95 points.
