    Code of Conduct

Congratulations to Palmyra and Wests for making the GF 2023
I only hope Wests keep the enthusiastic supporters under control regardless of the result.

Westie man and Fulvio were very civil and congratulatory of each other's club efforts after the grand final today, as would be expected of two gentlemen acting with great sportsmanship and camaraderie.

What they really thought is of course a matter of significant conjecture for consideration at another time.

No member of the university club displaying symptoms of mental or physical trauma was identified, and any suggestion to the contrary is a despicable mistruth, as is the preposterous innuendo that West supporters were in any way unruly or requiring outside control.

    So there.

Congratulations to Palmyra. Their ability to create a winning culture and environment across three grades speaks volumes to their true values of growing the game and enjoying a sport with friends. Win or lose.

On the other hand there’s an 80 thousand dollar team and a one season coach, after sacking a winning coach. Who’s making the decisions?

Surely the life members and faithful supporters aren’t holding their breath for this to a maintainable and sustainable setup.

    Interested in peoples opinions…

Maybe focus on your own backyard to see what you can do to be a bit more competitive instead of talking trash about what others do to keep their clubs competitive

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

On a more positive note it was a very enjoyable match that could have gone either way, lots of work by Paly organisers contributed to a great day showcasing premier rugby with good games from the match officials, no dodgy bullshit dispensations unlike the week before with that little stunt Uni pulled , apparently it was a board decision, whoever was involved in that debacle give yourselves an uppercut

Is this your opinion or a personal attack on me? I’ve asked for people’s opinions on the state of Rugby in WA.

I’m not from Uni you know.

Can your club sustain this without spending 80 grand next year? AND Does Thrush get the sack?

Everyone spent a hell of a lot of money this season and some clubs spent a lot more than 80 grand due to the visionaries pretty much holding a gun to clubs heads, they should be forced to either repay clubs back the money they spent or remove themselves from the board because it was a couple of board members who created this mess, they then sit back and watch RWA cop the heat

    Too right westie. Too right.

But can Wests sustain this or do they need to spend more money to keep the club afloat in 2024?
Does Thrush keep his position as head coach after a disappointing ending to 2023?

How about you come along to Wests AGM and put your hand up for a committee role because you seem very keen to get involved in what we do.

Paly scoring a converted try in the 83rd minute to win by 2 points is not really what I would descibe as a disappointing end to the season, Wests worked bloody hard to get to where they got to, you seem very keen to know what Thrushy is up to so send me your contact details and I'll send you his number and you can ask him yourself

With a 30 knot wind with 2 minutes to go. Why was Paly in Wests 22? With the wind like that and a score like that.. even a 3rd grade coach would’ve directed his players to send the ball to the other end. To have worked so hard as you say and have it STOLEN from you. Anyway..

Are wests going to spend 80 thousand dollars in 2024 and does Jeremy Thrush keep his job?

Interesting question and would be interested to get the view from people in different clubs wether involved in spending the money or what they think of those who did invest.
We know this has been going on for years with a few clubs and would be of no consequence, business as usual ,but for all clubs to invest this sort of money to maintain a premier grade team seems delusional.
Times have changed and the old brigade who reminisce about the good old days sitting in their mobility scooter with metal hips and knees need to get with the system and understand what these players want for their efforts .or maybe they’re suffering from to many head knocks.
Rugby Australia is in trouble with their view and vision towards the game let alone looking out for grass roots rugby in WA.
For the local board to pressure clubs into this position to spend up for survival beggars belief, only to turn around towards the end of the season to pull an April fools joke.
We need to know whose idea this was . Who voted for it. What they are doing in the next season to clubs as there are to many hard working people trying to keep clubs afloat without the Alan Joyce clones of this word making it harder

On another’s note I must say the standard of premier grade rugby has improved over the last 2 seasons which clubs should be rewarded for this improvement as it promotes WA rugby on Stan hopefully encouraging younger WA players but also visitors to play here.
