Down South for the comp. Local wildcard men up against the worlds best yesterday & acquitted themselves very well.

Had the pleasure over the last couple of days watching Gracetown girl Bronte Macauley take down 5 x world champ Carissa Moore yesterday & beat 5 x world champ Stephanie Gilmore in the QF's today! Both heats were amazing, going down to the last couple of waves today.

Semis are on tomorrow!

One of my uncles remarked to me about a 20 years ago, "You don't get much decent surf over your way, do you." At the time he lived about 100m from a Central Coast (NSW) surf beach and had visited WA a couple of times. I just smiled and said him "No not really it's a bit like some of those beaches along The Great Ocean Road" WOOSH!

Came back up Monday Shas, and then drove back down early this morning. After some serious emotional bribery we let the kids have the day off school. Got back about an hour ago. Very rare you get 2 locals still in on finals day!

Such a shame for Bronte going out in the semis. She was incredible. Amazing win for Jack Robbo! He did a lot of surfing today and got better and better as the day went on, and took out the big gun in the final!
Crazy day down there… was building all day and then just went off! definitely one to remember! He’s got a massive future ahead of him. So good to see WA surfers up there with the best in the world!
