Force v Moana Pasifika 22/04/2022 postponed

The Western Force's clash with Moana Pasifika has been postponed after a number of COVID cases in the Force camp.

The Western Force has medically reported considerable numbers of COVID-19 cases within the squad, which under Rugby Australia protocols means they are not available for selection,” Force CEO Tony Lewis said. "We have worked closely with Rugby Australia High Performance to firstly protect the integrity of the Western Force club and Super Rugby Pacific. We have made every effort possible to assist in making this game go ahead. Despite looking at multiple player replacement options, the number of players affected is simply too great.

“We’d like to thank Moana Pasifika for their understanding, and we look forward to meeting them at a later date.

According to Nick Taylor in The West close on 2 dozen players and staff are affected, and we were faced with fielding an under stregnth team using Brisbane and Sydney club players with no super experience:

The Western Forces crucial Super Rugby Pacific clash with Moana Pasifika has been postponed with the Force ravaged by a COVID-19 outbreak.

About two dozen players and staff are in quarantine with COVID or isolating under close contact rules.

The Force asked SANZAR for the postponement and the Super Rugby Medical Advisory Group made a decision on Wednesday, with a partly-assembled squad waiting to head to the airport for Friday’s game in Melbourne.

Completely get your logic; but I think I’d prefer to just get that one over with given how badly it’s going to hurt

Bloody covid! My Mungo team (who are also playing like busteds) has been hit hard as well. They are trying to arrange loan players from the NZ Warriors & the GC Titans - by bloody Friday, FFS.

worse than having to cancel the game, but the fitness & stamina is going to be absolute shite for the following few weeks. That means, that we will have a shit first 20, then an absolutely diabolical last 20.

It is going to be tough to watch the kiwi matches... even harder than the last 3...
