    From the Leicester Mercury

    https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/s...egarty-7292632

Hegarty has reportedly signed a one-season deal at Western Force, who have been active in their recruitment recently. The Perth side signed Curtis Rona from London Irish as well as former Brumbies and Wallabies hooker Folau Fainga’a, Chiefs flyer Chase Tiatia, Rebels back-rower and captain Michael Wells and second-rower Jeremy Williams from the Waratahs.

To be honest I think this is a bit of circular reporting.

I expect the Merc saw the story in the West yesterday on Hegarty that referenced Rona seeking an exit from his contract and being linked with the Force, then turned that into "fact" that he had signed for us as well.

You’ve all just spent two years trying not to get Rona!

Glad to see hodgos considering him bench not start.

Fingers crossed for sio and Rona.

Personally I think it is a bit harsh to sign someone and refer to them as a potential bench player

I am sure Hegarty would have his sights set on better than that such taking over at 15 from Strachan

If we can lock in Sio and Rona we are looking good

Someone has to sit on the bench Buddha. And I'd be disappointed if a professional rugby player wasn't trying to attain the highest level he can, but the team needs a mentor/backup for reesjan, not a 1 year superstar who'll leave nothing behind.

Except Sio is a loosehead and it's tightheads we have a greater need of (unless Robertson switches permanently).

Robertson went okay in the Aus As. I have a feeling he started out on the TH side. I wasn't a big fan of Medrano, so I figure it's worth a crack.

Sio and Rona would be awesome. It'd really add to two areas of need.

It seems that successful teams are picking and building a full-game strategy for 23 players.
Not just a 15 player game with replacements.
Quite looking forward to re-building of the WF SR franchise.

A Bench player seems like a detrimental term. And back a while it probably was.

"You weren't good enough to make the first 15. But we have a spot for you on the bench."

Nowadays. Modern teams, Successful teams refer to the bench players as replacements or Finishers. Players who are able to give their all for the team for the last 20-40 minutes. To punch that final nail in the opposition's coffin.

    It's all about perspective.

Has there been any official word about Curtis Rona's move to the Force?

There is a strong rumour circulating that Ox, Mrs Ox and two mini Oxs will be in Perth for the 2023 season and beyond
